Do you watch CJ Stroud and wonder ‘what if’?
frankw replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
What the hell does a running back have to do with a QB we traded a haul to move up to select? And Cam? His name shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation as the offensive and overall passing output we've been forced to watch the last several weeks. Cope logic like that is why it's impossible to have any real discussion about Young. -

This staff needs to go. I want to see what shakes out with a younger offensive mind that actually knows how to develop an offense not built for the 1990's. Bryce is a good kid with with a good head on his shoulders. He's not someone anyone wants to root against. There is still time for him to learn develop and adapt. The issue is the physical traits. That's just not going to change and for a front office built around analytics it's odd anyone with real football knowledge would look at the arm talent disparity between Stroud and Young and say this isn't an issue at all. We'll see how that ultimately plays out but we've done the blame game for weeks now I feel like enough is enough. Our only win of the season was a classic example of not being able to sustain drives and playing for field goals type of Panthers game that many people have complained about for years. For some reason now it's the game cited as Bryce Young's arrival. Really? The rest of our schedule after Dallas is not difficult. There's plenty of opportunities for Bryce to showcase his ability as a passer if it's going to happen. We've already bottomed out entirely. There's nowhere to go but up. There has to be some semblance of progress though circumstances be damned. -
Who are David Tepper’s football mentors or influences?

Himself. The man tried to oust Mike Tomlin. He's an egomaniac. -

Those who are encouraging others to go root for another team are welcome to create their own version of the huddle where they dictate thoughts to others. -

No because we can't unring that bell unfortunately. But we damn sure can talk poo to the folks here who downed that kid every opportunity they got. Good luck washing that stink off. -
@poundaway S2troud right?

We should be running the division. But we can't even draft the right QB or hire the right coach. Thanks David and Nicole Tepper.

Right but even Cam was all aboard the Bryce train. Luke too. For some reason no one with the Panthers was like hey ya know CJ might be a stud too. Truly baffling and depressing.

CJ Stroud is sitting at 9.4 yards per pass attempt on the game. Talk about night and day geesh.

He's making many people look like fools right now but the former Panthers players who doubted him and carried water for Bryce Young really look bad. It's going to be a long time before I put any relevancy in what Steve Smith says about a young QB.

Frank leaves the door open to taking back playcalling duties

Most points scored all season. Still people can't accept. -
Yet still some people defend Fitterer. The man is a desperate fool who has been making deals since he got here to absolutely no avail and to the detriment of the roster. And the thing is even if he could get either of those teams interested in making that trade the player still has to want to play here. Nobody wants to be a part of this shitshow thanks to the decisions of Scott and David Tepper.

Collins had 481 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hinting that's the making of a breakout season is comical. Now do Noah Brown. Or you could just admit the Texans drafted the QB with the clearest arm talent in the draft who looks to be one of the better rookie QB's in years while we said no thanks.
-
Robert Woods barely eclipsed 500 receiving yards the two seasons prior and Nico Collins didn't even reach 500 in a single season until he met CJ Stroud. It's crazy people are still clinging to this he has elite WR's narrative but copers gonna cope.

The more you realize how inept stubborn dated and horrible Reich is as a head coach it's even more sobering knowing this guy sold David Tepper hook line and sinker. Just like Matt Rhule. Dave could not be bothered with that young hot shot Shane Steichen. We are going nowhere as long as Tepper thinks he knows best. The man is a buffoon.

That's the disconnect. You perceive valid critique as rooting for failure. That's a you problem.

Bryce's issues have very little to do with the type of offense. As a first overall pick QB his arm talent is supposed to be what separates him from other QB's. He did not look much different than Tyson Bagent. Then you have his size disadvantage and the fact we have to run so much shotgun to fit his strengths and that further limits any offense you build around him. All we can do now is hope to maximize his ability to manage the game with a new incoming staff next season.
-
What really stings is the former Panthers who all went to bat for Bryce Young and didn't for one moment say hey maybe we should pause for a sec and take another look at CJ Stroud.

The thing is if you rewind back to April and the weeks before the draft the most toxic people on this board were those who railed against anyone skeptical of Bryce Young.
