The “best” thing Tepper has done is unite what’s left of the fanbase.

I feel pretty damn vindicated now after arguing with some folks here the last 2 years that said he does not meddle at all. -
Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young
frankw replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
At one point Cam had the likes of Byron Bell and Nate Chandler at crucial ends of the line and still moved the ball. Also if I'm not mistaken through those best years the only RB to reach 1k yards rushing was Stewart and that was one season. Cam often times was the offense. As far as our current line and the number of sacks please take the time to actually look up some information. The Giants are on pace to probably set some kind of record with 69 sacks given up. And they recently had a UDFA QB start and win a game for them. The Commanders are behind them with 55 sacks given up. The Jets have 47. We have 43. That's the correct information. You're welcome. -
Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young

The most pro ready of the QB class needs perfect circumstances to be even serviceable as a starter and we've got people within the building texting Ben Johnson like "run.." lol. This is an embarrassment.- 124 replies

Yeah there can be multiple things true at one time. The oline has been bad and the receivers have had some costly drops especially guys like TMJ doing his best Dwayne Jarrett impression. But the job of the oline has been made more difficult by both the scheme and the limitations of Bryce Young so far in this offense with the lack of play action the lack of snaps from under center and Bryce Young himself. We have to acknowledge some of this is only exacerbating our oline problems. Then you have the lack of any semblance of a downfield connection and you can see defenders just sitting on short routes reading Bryce Young's eyes. It's all bad. All that's left is to hope a reset with Reich exiting the picture will help. But on the flip side of that the fact that the Panther PR is arguing that firing McCown is supposed to help Bryce because he's supposedly had too many people in his ear doesn't jive with what we were sold in April and the weeks leading up because he was supposed to be the most pro ready and coachable of the draft class.

Insight into the coaching search from Jonathan Jones
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
At this point as low as we've sunk I would be fine with Harbaugh. I don't see him being a long term match with Tepper though. That only works if Dave is hands off for the most part. -
We didn't trade up and forfeit a premium talent at a position of need for Mingo. If BY were some kid we took a mid round flyer on most would shrug and keep it pushing. If you just want to silence conversation you don't agree with just be upfront about that because clearly that's what you seek.
-
That's a good start sir kudos to you. But do you or others see the inconsistency in declaring Mingo was the wrong pick in only 11 career games while arguing there's no way we can definitively judge Bryce Young who is operating within the same set of unfortunate circumstances? I'd like to see both with different coaching and go from there. In the meantime if either or both play poorly call it like you see it on a game by game basis and hope for improvement along the way. Seems pretty straightforward rather than spending every week digging in on the same defenses and firing off haymakers at each other for expressing concerns. First order of business. Don't look like poo against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

I think most of us can agree on the fact Bryce Young is going to get the rest of this season and next season to prove whatever he can at this level regardless of whatever degree of likelihood we think that has of having a positive outcome. Yes there is a level of trolling around this subject and it can be toxic but the people who have made it their mission to be both his agent and sworn protector are just as if not more toxic than anyone else. Truly they are some of the worst I've interacted with in the 2 decades I've been around the Panthers.
-
All this from the guy who was up at 4 am pooing posts lol. Maybe take a breather from the Panthers and stop staying up all night.

Are you alright bud?
-
Idk he's not played particularly well but he's flashed occasionally at least. If I'm willing to acknowledge so many things in the offense and staff are poor around Bryce then I'm willing to give Mingo a chance with a clean slate now that Reich is gone too.
-
I want to believe there's no way Scott Fitterer's job could be safe in the midst of all this but I don't know.
-
Yeah at this point as inept stubborn and outdated as Reich and his offense was a new coaching hire is only going to be able to do so much. We are going to have to sink big $$ into this interior OL to not only make Bryce's life easier in general but to help him see the field. It's sobering knowing we traded what we did to draft the most apparently physically limited QB of the class but what's done is done. Hopefully this whole thing has some kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Time will tell.

Can you imagine these two trying to coexist? Sounds like a terrible match.
