  1. If you're a Panthers fan you should want him to succeed. It's that simple. If you find yourself perusing various threads today you'll see the conversation on Bryce Young ends up between two groups with not much wiggle room. The next two games and next season hopefully show us the improvement and promise we seek.
  2. There was one poster here who wanted the team and our QB to be bad and he basically asked to be banned apparently. There's nothing wrong with being skeptical. It's the Panthers after all. But we also have to be able to plainly acknowledge improvement when we see it and not die on a hill because of foolish pride or ego. In that vein. I have to ask. Mr completely please take a few breathers from all this and give it a rest. You're making anyone with even a healthy level of skepticism look like a troll by proximity. Enough is enough. There were some throws Bryce made that definitely have me feeling better about his future with the right head coach. He had the aura of a guy that felt in command in the second half. That is encouraging. I don't know what his ceiling is and that's one area where I will differ from the folks who tend to be on the extreme end of things. I'd love to see him become a hall of famer for us but I feel it may be more likely he will end up a high end starter who will be more dependent on the moving parts around him. With the right coach to grow with maybe more. Beyond that what I want to see organizationally is to invest heavily in our offense. Pay Derrick Brown whatever he wants yes. Tag Burns and if we get a strong trade offer do what you must. But invest BIG in the offense. I'm tired of the pendulum swinging to the defense. With what we've given up for Bryce we must go big or go home building an offense around him and that begins with the oline and more rushing/receiving threats. Hire a real GM please.
  3. Well now that you mention Sam. His new low performance today could serve as a cautionary moment to us about not getting too wrapped up in individual games for a young QB. He has at times this season looked like a promising possible franchise QB for them. Now look at how low he's sunk. Sounds a bit like a rerun of Taylor Heinicke from last year. Let's see how Bryce and this offense perform the next two games. Hopefully we continue to move forward and move the ball well. But let's not kid ourselves. It is possible we see another step back to some degree.
  4. Improvement that is very nice to see. I must say though it is amusing that people like Thomas Brown again after the Saints debacle.
  5. Chuba moved the chains with some strong runs at crucial points in the game and he got in the end zone. Diminishing him now after weeks of saying our run game sucks seems no different than the Bryce Young criticism you speak against.
  6. Not the least bit surprising. The refs have usually tended to lean this way anytime this team plays a more established franchise. I can't imagine that the way Tepper has run this franchise helps matters any in the refs or the league office having any interest in seeing game altering calls go our way though.
  7. Bryce has had less than 30 attempts only twice all season. You guys are moving the goal posts and ignoring the fact the Panthers couldn't run the ball increasing the passing attempts. As far as judging the QB performance based on the talent level of the opposing defense that cuts both ways fellas. The Packers gave up 452 yards of offense to a Baker Mayfield offense last week. If you want a discussion it helps to be consistent in your stance.
  8. Again. It took Bryce Young 3 months to replicate Dalton's game. Andy was running a Reich offense with the same pieces on the road. Minus newcomer Smith Marsette. And 33 rushing yards from his backfield. See you're already applying revisionist history saying he was far from the biggest thing holding the team back when you omit the really bad turnovers. Multiple pick sixes in one game? Before today several backup undrafted QB's had been outperforming Bryce Young. It's okay to talk about this. It's okay to expect today from Bryce Young more often. He's a #1 pick. If he listened to any of you he would never improve. That's a gut check for ya.
  9. Hey now. I was. Read the posts I've made. I give credit where it is due. But then I enter some of these threads and apparently to some folks they feel like they are the arbiter of who can and can't be a fan because Bryce Young finally got close to replicating 35 year old Andy Dalton’s lone start 3 months later. We can't have discussion about Young for different reasons. There are some fools that simply do not like him. But most just want him to be the player we drafted him to be. This superiority nonsense is just as toxic to discourse as the "haters" are. Jake Delhomme got the smoke. Cam Newton got the smoke. Kyle Allen got the smoke. Teddy Bridgewater got the smoke. Sam Darnold got the smoke. Baker Mayfield got the smoke. Why is Bryce any different? That comes with the territory of being the QB. Again. Here's to hoping we can build on this and Bryce Young continues to develop and progress. Please no more steps back.
  10. I agree on the leadership. That's not just on coaching though. We need to see more of this from Bryce Young. He looked much more comfortable out there today and confident. That translated to the rest of the offense. Hopefully we see more of that.
  11. Apparently it's unreasonable to expect your #1 pick to not be statistically one of the worst starting QB's in the NFL. Some of you are so emotionally invested you've lowered standards and that's a personal preference.
  12. What are "those" throws? He still has a lot to prove on his deep ball in the NFL. I'm hoping a full offseason will allow him the opportunity to add some level of bulk and improve his footwork. It's okay to discuss these things that he can and will work on.
  13. We finally put up 30 points and you're about ready to leave? Come on sack up.
  14. He had his best game so far in the NFL and most are giving credit. This is an odd stance. As if expecting him to play like this on a more regular basis is disrespectful and hating. It's called standards. He's playing like a #1 pick now. That's what we should be seeing.
  15. Well poo I forgot all about that one. Lawrence has been mediocre. No reason we can't make a game of that one too.
  16. Fair or not at the end of the day the offense goes as the QB goes. Bryce was dialed in and that translated to rest of the offense. As bad as people are saying GB's defense is. The Bucs are somehow worse. No reason we can't replicate this performance next week. Against Baker Mayfield too? Cmon...
  17. Who wants him to be a bust? We just scored 30 points for the first time in what at least a year? Let's see how next week goes. We've got a long offseason ahead of us. Bryce has as much work to do on his game as the team does building around him and finding the right coach.
  18. Legitimately I won't hear anymore Chark slander. He's a capable receiver and Theilen and Smith Marsette are certainly solid. Tremble is improving too we just seldomly use him. And Chuba is damn good. Even Blackshear had a nice play. All this talk of awful weapons isn't going to fly. We've got talent.
  19. Well the outcome sucks but I liked what I saw from Bryce and the offense today. I asked for improvement and this is certainly a good starting point. And at home. I expect even more against the Bucs whose defense is even worse than GB. End this on a high note.
  20. I'd hope they are happy this team is giving the fans something fun and worth watching at home for a change. I know I am.
  21. Is this the first time we've scored 30 this season? Seems like it's been a long time.
  22. Blackshear should get usage more often. Credit to Sanders. Great team play there.
  23. Impressive play from #9. Folks need to stop hating on Chark btw.
  24. Eddie is what he is we all knew this. The search continues.
