Amazing. Local sports media finally holds crappy owner accountable and thread turns into a discussion about a fired soccer coach for a team who’s been around 1 season. Maybe this fan base deserves what it gets.

Just not sure how someone reads that entire article and comes away with Fowler was wrong for bringing up the firing of the soccer coach. The big picture is is he’s now fired 3 coaches mid season and is on his 6th total coach. He’s on 2 gms and multiple team presidents. He has had to major projects fall through. even if this soccer coach sucked, Tepper still hired him. The only constant in this is Tepper.

Some people in this fan base are just completely clueless. This article was long over due and honestly should have been much more scathing, but give Scott credit, someone finally called out this owner. this is all you can ask from your local media. To hold the incompetent ones in power accountable, but yet many in this thread are bashing Fowler. Laughable the mindset of some who root for this team. unfollow and go follow the will Kunkels, joe persons, David newtons, and who ever the observer is employing on the beat this week of the worlds. I for one appreciate this from Fowler and hope it’s just the beginning.

Yup very bleak. We have a guy with a communications background pushing for the Missouri defensive coordinator to be the next head coach of this team and Tepper is listening to it. My god we’re screwed.

Today is a great day. We should all be celebrating the firing of the worst coach to ever step foot in Charlotte. Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Rhule was worse than seifert, and that is saying a lot. with that all said, there is still a long way to go and stuff to be concerned about. David Tepper didn’t come off looking great in his press conference. The QB position is still an absolute mess. but the single biggest concern I have is something jason la canfora wrote this morning. He has sources telling him that Steven Drummond is the most influential person in the building and compared him to Jack Easterby. That is a huge problem. I’ve heard all of the good stories about Steven Drummond, and I am sure he is a great guy, but he doesn’t have a personnel background. I fail to see how he is qualified to be making critical football decisions for this franchise. This franchise continues to rely on the Hurneys and Drummonds of the world, who do not have personnel backgrounds, while other franchises are pouring resources into finding the most innovative football minds in the sport. also, it is never a good thing to be compared to jack Easterby. The many has been in the center of all of the Texans dysfunction over the past few years. For every step forward Tepper takes, he immediately ends up taking 3 more back.

Tepper should never have kept Hurney. He should’ve hired a GM and let him choose the coach. Instead he did it ass backwards. I have no idea if Fitterer is a good GM or not because he has Rhule and Tepper anchored to him, but I don’t care. Clean house, start over, and do it the right way. hire a search firm to find the next general manager. Give him 100% freedom to build his front office as fit and hire whoever he wants as head coach. Then him and the coach are on the same clock unlike it is now. The way this season is going they will also be in position to pick the next franchise QB as well.

Jerry Richardson is a god awful human being. No matter how terrible Davis Tepper is, no one should miss Richardson. With that said, Tepper is as bad of an owner that there is in sports.

last season was the first time ever. this year i couldnt care less. never in my life did i think it would get to this point. i blame tepper. i blame rhule. i blame the charlotte media.

I’ve been screaming this for years and nothing changes. david Newton and joe person are two of the worst beat guys in the country. i have no idea who does what for the observer these days. It is just a revolving door. Steve reed never recovered from losing all that sleep at the hands of cam Newton. Mac and Bone are nothing more than bias cheerleaders who do nothing but reference PFF. Still get a good laugh at a month back when they were ripping fans about DJ Moore (who I like a lot) calling them idiots for having issues with his lack of TDs. Then TBone was defiant saying everyone was an idiot for not repeating all of the rushing touchdowns he produces. He was mixing up rushing TDs with rushing first downs. But yes the callers are the idiots. kyle Bailey is a lost cause. The hornets and panthers can go the next decade without winning a game and he won’t say a negative word as long as he keeps getting those Mitch kupchak interviews. I just found this guy nata on twitter and my god he is lost. there just isn’t a lot of hope. This city is content with mediocrity. They have 2 poor franchises and 2 awful owners and 2 franchises with a combined zero championships. There is no accountability. Just an overall piss poor sports media.

yup this is all 100% spot on. i used to be crushed with these types of losses. would just have a pit in my stomach for a few days. i honestly dont care and fully expected to lose. you can call it being fair weather, but its just not the case. went to college in north carolina. bought ticket plans all 4 years i was a college student. my save the dates for my wedding were panthers themed. the 'signarture" drink at our wedding was called the gettleman. i proposed after the nfc championship game against arizona. my dogs name is julius. the middle names of my kids are charlotte and cameron. i am one of the few idiots who actually pays for directv because i need panthers football. i was as invested of a fan as there could be, but david tepper has killed this franchise. he completely destroyed everything that cam and luke built over the past decade, and he continues to show he has absolutely no idea what he is doing. he has zero self awareness and showed that last month when he called out panthers twitter for living in basements. he just sucks. the coach sucks. the state of this team sucks. i hope you all are fans of other teams because its going to be a while before things change around here.

think about it. all he had to do was come in a replace jerry richardson. a disgusting human being who turned out to be a racist and sexual harasser. instead hes actually killed this franchise and the passion of this fan base. he is a joke. he is a clown. he is completely lost as an owner. at least with richardson there was always a light at the end of the tunnel because of his age. not saying i wanted him to die, but he wasnt going to live forever. with tepper, we are royally screwed.

It’s so depressing looking at this depth chart. There are talented pieces here. Teams would kill to have talent like CMC, Moore, Icky, Moton, Burns, Chinn, and Horn. there are very solid complimentary pieces in Robbie, Corbett, Shaq, Bozeman, Donte Jackson, and Woods. i still have hope we see big jumps from terrace Marshall, tremble, Christensen, Derrick brown, gross-matos, and cj Henderson. if this clueless franchise just allowed cam to play out the last season of his contract we’d never be in this mess. Either cam would have had a great season and been signed long term and his career might have gone in a different direction or he would’ve bottomed out, panthers would have sucked and had no salary commitments to any QB going forward. They could have then drafted their franchise QB of the future. instead of having a young qb on a rookie deal and surrounding them with these young and talented pieces, they targeted terrible QBs. Instead of just rebuilding, they did just enough to put themselves in position to not draft their next cam. im no baker fan, but you can deny he’s superior to both check down Teddy and darnold. With the talent on this roster, baker has the opportunity to put this franchise in the single worst spot in the nfl. Just good enough to sneak into the playoffs and get blown out first round, continuing this ridiculous QB carousel and Matt rhules tenure in Charlotte.

Matt Rhule is an awful coach. Never mentioned him once in my argument against rivera being competent. But yes whatever can help you prop up that fool. none of the coaches I mentioned would I be happy with even if they were to replace Rhule. Also never said Rhule was better than any of those coaches, but again go off. let me try to explain my point differently for you. Yes, I left off the likes of belichick and Reid, because my point was you don’t need to be a competent coach to win coach of the year. It’s not like rivera is on a list of all time greats and I’m claiming he’s the outlier. There are many mediocre to awful coaches on that list. Ron Rivera is closer to Ray Rhodes than he is Andy Reid and I don’t even think that’s debatable. Give me a break rivera made the playoffs his first year in Washington. They went 7-9 and would’ve missed the playoffs if Philly didn’t pull their starters in the 2nd half where Washington still barely hung on to win. If your point is rivera being fired was the wrong move because look at how big of a dunce our shiny new toy is, then that’s how we stay mediocre forever. That was the exact thinking of the past ownership group which led to Marty Hurney torturing us for 2 decades. ron rivera sucks. Matt Rhule sucks. Both can be true. Rivera should have been fired and Rhule should have been fired. This is it for Rhule. They have a bad season, he’s gone. If he isn’t, then we have much bigger problems than Matt Rhule.

I mean come on to anyone trying to use coach of the year as a defense to Ron Rivera. That is laugh out loud funny. Ron Rivera is in elite company with the likes of Ray Rhodes, Dom Capers, Jim Fassel, Jim Haslett, Dick Jauron, Lovie Smith, Mike Smith, Marvin Lewis, Jason Garrett, Matt Nagy, and Kevin Stefanski truly the elite of the elite in the football world. the truth is Ron Rivera was as incompetent as could be. He botched the primes of both cam and Luke. He has always been a fraud. His fact act was almost as bad as his coaching. He was gifted 2 superstars and carried by them both on offense and defense. He never turned down an opportunity to throw cam under the bus to protect his own ass. He turned his back on cam when he needed an opportunity after cam carried Ron for a decade. nothing made me happier then when row boat Ron took the Washington job. It exposed his fake good guy act going to work for Dan Snyder. They also had no qb so it has exposed how much cam and Luke actually covered for him. I loved when he brought the 2 Marty idiots in showing he just wants yes men surrounding him. i am truly going to enjoy the unraveling of his coaching career in Washington. And it will always amaze me how any panthers fan could watch both Row boat and fox and come away with the conclusion that rivera was the better coach. Fox would coach circles around him.

Kris magnum and mike Seidman were no better either

Kris magnum and Michael Gaines in 2006. 36 catches for 316 yards 1 td. Tremble and Thomas combined for 38 catches for 379 yards and 2 tds. Both Thomas and tremble have more potential that Gaines and magnum and put up better numbers.

Just because you keep repeating this, it doesn’t make it true. Panthers have had worse.
