How long do they control him for? I cant stand him as a person but wont deny that he is a very good coach in terms of setting a roster and developing players and in game decisions for that matter. Unfortunately I believe we have just been use to the bottom of the barrel in terms of Rhule coaching so a talking duck would probably look great as a coach compared to the guy we just had.

Im okay with a two year plan IF they move in the right direction each season and no more Rhule type decisions. I realize championships most often are not built over night but it sure would be nice to at least legitimately contend for a playoff spot every single season and feel like we have a shot at that every single season. Just consistent winning and consistent decent decisions with personnel and all things team related would be nice in my eyes. Some of the decisions made the past few years have been some of the worst I have ever seen from an NFL organization and we have taken recent steps to get the ring leader out of the circus which is a positive but we must continue down that path and do whatever we must to get the best fit coaches and players we possibly can. Just moving each year in the right direction and not backwards would make me happy as well as hopeful.

But why? It does not GUARANTEE that the QB we pick is going to be amazing. What if we picked 15th or 18th and still found a Pat Mahomes type? It just doesn't guarantee the player we select is going to be amazing. It is still a huge gamble is all I'm trying to say. It is deprey as hell to watch our team and root against them. I feel like some sort of traitor when I do this.

Ehhh, yeah he is looking pretty good and improving each week. I also agree he would be a better option than anyone we have and definitely see where you are coming from. I guess you are right that he isn't working with much as far as team support and who knows maybe he would look even better with some solid pieces around him. I'm probably warped and under the wrong mindset thinking every QB we draft should look like Pat Mahomes out the gate.

I did. You are right, he did look good. If at season end he has more good games than bad and does keep showing improvement I will agree that he was a missed opportunity. No matter how good Horn turns out your most valuable asset will always be a good franchise QB

Before I consider it a mistake not taking him I want to see this season as a whole and see how he looks at the end rather than one good game here and there. If he looks strong overall with more good games than bad by seasons end I will too start to believe it was a mistake to not take him. Somehow I just never believed he would put it all together but maybe my bias comes from where he came from at Ohio State which I realize you can't fully judge any QB by just the school he came from.

These QB's some people want us to tank for sure don't look like Cam Newton or Andrew Luck types to me. I was hoping both PJ and Wilks would keep propelling us upward and was enjoying PJ's Cinderella story so I guess you can put me down as a "shitty take" because I wasn't being completely doom and gloom hoping we lose every damn other game we play so we can take a gble with a top pick QB that may or may not even pan out. I still want us to work as many possible games as they can and don't want to sit around every Sunday rooting against my team then getting pissed off if they do win. If all that is shitty takes then that's cool, put me down for shitty takes but I haven't disappeared myself. Who exactly are the fair weather fans that have checked out? It appears to me most people are still here. Two things that irk me currently and one which may have some affect on traffic: 1. The tank vs don't tank argument. No players in their right mind will tank. Each year they are fighting for roster spots and their livelihood. I don't give a damn who says what, if I'm a player I'm playing every single game as if it is my Superbowl even if there's one game left and my team is 0-16. And thank for what exactly? A higher draft pick so you can pick a QB that may or may not work out anyhow? There has been plenty as many or more busts at QB than hall of famers taken with the first few picks. Tanking means nothing. It's still a crap shoot and a 50/50 gamble on every QB. 2: This may explain less traffic and it has really irked me but the massive ads all over the damn place has made it difficult to even post. @PhillyBand I haven't always agreed or gotten along on subjects in the past pertaining to other things outside football but he and I definitely would agree the site has gone to poo user friendly wise with all these ads and crap all over the damn screen. As far as the Bengals go. I grew up a Bengals fan being from Ohio and suffered many sad seasons watching them lose consistently. Watched them lose another super bowl last year and it as usual saddened me. I feel like our fortunes as Panthers fans have been much the same as the Bengals fans. So close and then we miss by a tiny margin and then struggle for years after.

Definitely need Chuba back to see if he can run like he was running before he got hurt. He was looking very good and I hate he got hurt
