  1. I agree with you. We don't need to run him into the ground. Need Chuba back to get a 1, 2 punch or somebody who can consistently get positive yards along with Foreman.
  2. Guy sounds like a player/leader. He also sounds motivated and seems to try to lift others up around him. I like how he was giving the O-line credit. I am liking him more and more each week. Good team player there for sure.
  3. So what you are saying is a good leader of men type coach cannot be successful in 2022 at all? They bring nothing to the table as far as a super bowl trophy goes? I see where you are coming from but is it possible his coaching style could be different than Rivera's in that he may be able to leads us to a super bowl win? Does he not seem like the type that would go after a good offensive minded coordinator to kick some ass when we have the ball? I just feel as if we cant miss out on the possibility of someone who could be a great coach for this team based upon not reaching that level of success we wanted with Rivera. He is a different man and not everyone can be categorized and labeled into the exact same mold giving us the exact same results as a previous coach. I really do see what you mean. I personally just feel there may be something special about Wilks we really should at the very least consider IF the team finishes strong. All really depends on how we finish and if they keep that higher energy and continue to look like they actually want to go hard.
  4. Where is it written that Wilks is BAD for a rookie QB? Yes, he may not be some offense guru nerd but the guy is a leader and cares. I will take leadership, intelligence (Rhule had zero), care for his players, and no non sense blue collar approach he seems to have over offense nerd any day. Wilks isn't stupid and knows he is not an offensive guru so I bet he would go out and find one. Hell, I am willing to bet Brady may have potentially been better under Wilks. The first thing a young QB needs is a good leader in a coach and if you can find him a good veteran willing to teach and help then you have one hell of a good healthy venue for growth and development. Throw into the mix an offense guru nerd QB coach and coordinator and you could have a perfect situation to get the most growth possible out of a QB and thats all you could possibly ask for. I don't see Wilks being bad for a young QB at all. Hell, look how the players seem to be responding to Wilks with more energy, fire and effort on all sides of the ball already.
  5. I really like Wilks and how the players have responded to him so far. I don't give a damn whether he is an offensive guru or not, if they continue to play harder like this for the rest of the season he HAS to be considered to be the man in charge. We can find him some offense nerd to run the offense if we have to but Wilks being the man at the top who seems to posses true leadership ability much unlike that waste of a head coach Rhule deserves a true run as a head coach. I don't know him personally but he seems very un-narcissistic much unlike Rhule. He is just a guy you can easily get behind. I am seriously liking him more and more each week whether win or lose as the entire attitude is changing with the team. He has the "It" factor it takes to be a leader I believe. His one year in Arizona was BS. He needs a legit real run to build a coaching staff and run things his way. So far I really like things his way.
  6. So in the first half he played like every other QB has the past couple years for us. Second half though, he played like a non Panthers QB so he definitely should start this week.
  7. I agree it is reactionary on my behalf but he did play a major part in contributing to that loss. I'm just saying if I were coach i would bring in a few guys to tryout and look at just to show that is acceptable. If you are going to miss one, miss one that doesn't have such a huge bearing on the outcome of the game when it depends on you. We probably won't find a better kicker than him but at least it puts in his mind we aren't complacent and going to accept that garbage play when the game is counting on him. It does not hurt to give a few guys a look at least but I totally agree 99.99% chance we will not find better during the season. That loss just stung is all and it is mostly on him with not one but two chances to put us ahead. I don't want to pay him on the back for that and tell him great job. I at least would want to do something to let him know next time that situation comes upif the distance is within reason, he needs to make it. Especially with two chances to put the team ahead.
  8. So does it hurt to bring a few guys in for a tryout? Since nobody EVER in the history of sports has been found by bringing someone in off the couch for a tryout just to do due diligence I guess we shouldn't worry about it and say to hell with it.
  9. We think alike. You just explained it much better than I did.
  10. With that in mind I don't want to tank then. If rather win and build team confidence and develop whoever we draft in the position we draft them. My point is just hoping we lose out to get the number 1 or number 2 pick doesn't guarantee anything so who cares.
  11. Ehhh I will roll with PJ. He hasn't done enough yet to lose the job. I hope to see him hang onto it the rest of the way to be able to evaluate him to see if he develops himself further in games. If so great, if not at least we know. These other guys have had their time. Give PJ his and let's see what happens.
  12. We are going to win more games and won't even get a top 3 pick and it doesn't bother me at all. Who is to say the guy we pick if we were secure the number 1 pick even pans out and does not bust?
  13. Detrimental to what exactly? Getting the number 1 pick and selecting a QB that may or may not pan out?
  14. He doesn't represent everybody on the team and I hope Wilks chewed his ass out for getting caught taking selfies instead of getting on camera practicing his kicks. Of course if I was coach Pinero would be watching me try out about 10 different kickers intensely this week making them kick field goals with me behind them shooting off a starter pistol while I have a few people doing a fake rush in towards him.
  15. I thought it was a great play and I still hope he becomes what we want him to become. Any great play can help build a players confidence which could in turn give him a little more swag which in turn could help him turn the corner to develop into what we hope their potential to be. I would love to see more from him like that.
  16. This. If you can't call it consistent each game throughout the entire league week after week then it has no business being called when a ref just feels like calling it for shits and giggles especially instances that COMPLETELY after the landscape and outcome of a game.
  17. I like the turnaround I have seen in the players effort. If this continues I feel like they have to seriously consider hiring him. My issue with hiring an "offensive guy" is what if Tepper gets snowed over by another short order cook who talks a big game and should be selling used cars which causes us to have another Rhule for 3 or 4 years. With Wilks so far we know what we have and the players seem to be responding well to him so let's evaluate how the rest of the season goes and if he keeps strong then we could seriously consider him but even then we should at least look around and make sure we are making a good decision if we go the Wilks route. I do really like him so far and think if tge players effort continues like this he should be the front runner for the job as he will be a proven commodity.
  18. I thought he had been pretty solid up until today as well but the bed sure was pooed in today. They should at least be trying out kickers this week to look at anyone they can think of just in case he goes into a long-term funk.
  19. That has nothing to do with the crap kicking game or the BS celebration penalty.
  20. Well said. I don't want to tank anything this season. I want to win a Smith as we can to get these players confidence up for the future as well as see who else on the team can develop further to become a major contributor for next season. Win as many as we can and enjoy the teams new attitude that is developing each week.
  21. I don't know what it is but I can't help to be a PJ fan these days. The team looks invigorated with him behind center and Rhule's ass gone. PJ has at least proven he will be a good backup for this team but right now I think he is the absolute best we have and needs to continue to start to see if he can develop even further. I'm sentimental though as I love a feel good story and would enjoy seeing PJ and Steve Wilks turn the team around together and both land jobs for next year.
  22. I didn't BUT it WAS a bone headed move on his part. He had a hell of a play but damn what a mental error. I realize emotions are high but it's so disappointing that it was not controlled in that moment. He has to get smarter in situations like that!
