If season ended today which QB would you take.
YourLastThought replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess if I had to take a QB I would more than likely have to go with Stroud at this point. Young is a great talent but the size obviously scares me away. I realize there have been small QB's but he seems REALLY small and that worries me for his future in the NFL. I hope it works out for him and he proves all critics wrong as im sure he is a good guy but it would scare me away from him just due to the size issue. Stroud seems to check all the boxes except where he plays and how much talent he has been surrounded by. He is good obviously but I always wonder if he just has the best talent in the country around him or if he would just be that great anyhow. Such a tough call and always a gamble either way but I would have to take Stroud. -
Well at least they got to see Clemson get a beating at the hands of Notre Dame on TV if they watched it a few weeks ago. If Clemson could somehow work their way back into the CFP (possibly could happen with some luck) they will more than likely get to see Clemson take another beating at the hands of one of the other three teams as well so there are good beatings of Clemson already seen and yet to be seen. They definitely had a great run but I have a feeling they wont be winning another national championship for many a year but will probably stay relevant and in the top 15 for awhile. I do always enjoy watching them lose though as I get so tired of seeing all their bandwagon fans who couldn't care less of them before they became great in the recent future.

Matt Rhule joins GMFB Tuesday & Wednesday
YourLastThought replied to Ocpanthertew714's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im curious to see it just because sometimes I apparently enjoy banging my head in a wall or slamming my finger with a a hammer over and over. I have no true interest in seeing him either but I guess it is something of a curiosity just to see if he says or does something dumb as he did much dumb while in Carolina. -
You are a perennial tanker. Nobody cares what you think. If the team drops two straight at the beginning of any basic season, you move to tank immediately as if that guarantees some franchise changing player each time. Go cheer against your team each week and clap when they do bad whine and cheese idiot.

Who’s ready for the big game next weekend?
YourLastThought replied to BIGH2001's topic in Carolina Panthers
Doesn't sound as if you really even like the organization at all do you? If they cause you that much sorrow there are 31 other teams to follow or keep an eye on. I understand being disappointed in the season and how the team has been run the past few years but Rhule is gone finally so there is now at least always some sort of hope and that is better than how it was with Rhule. Day at a time is all you can do and just enjoy any small positivesbin hopes they will soon be replaced by large positives. Better than being so down and negative I guess. -
While I agree with you that he is awful I know you would never punch his face. That guy may suck at QB but unless you are done secret kung fu master that I doubt you are, he would kick your message board ass all up and down the street if you were dumb enough to punch him. He may suck but he is a 200+ pound man. He can't throw but it don't mean he can't fight and wouldn't wreck you.

Sometimes it happens unfortunately but I also think he and Baker aren't really cohesive and don't have any timing or anythinh down. They are like oil and water maybe? Something seems off with Baker all season in general though. I think that shoulder injury last year was more serious than let on. Unfortunately he just isn't meant to be a long-term answer but I still believe DJ is.

How do you do Sundays when our team plays? Do you root against them and get mad if they do well? It just feels weird to me and I haven't been. I've just been rooting for good play and if we get a win I feel good for the guys who get it. I don't understand this other way of wishing bad upon them and for them to be crushed every game. I realize a higher pick is always better even for trading down for multiple picks band different scenarios but how do you go about rooting against your boys so easily and also who is this Andrew Luck type QB that is a can't miss you are wanting exactly? Which QB is it? To me they all look nothing like a polished Andrew Luck or a big freak of nature with electric level excitement like Cam Newton. Who is your guy that causes you to root against our boys every Sunday?

As far as I know Cam hasn't played all year and is basically retired. He was great and I sure did love Cam but man you have to let it go. That poor guy isn't what he once was in terms of what he can do and injuries really took a tool on his body and ability. Great Panthers and wonderful human being from all I saw of him in Charlotte. My kids first hero and someone I will always have a love for and hope he is always happy and at peace in his life. With all that in mind Cam is done and I just wait for the day that he signs as Panther and we can retire his number as once of our legends. Other than that Cam needs to rest his body and enjoy his retirement. Let his legend rest and ride off in the sunset. We don't need to see him back struggling and get the poor guy hurt anymore. He has earned his couch time on Sundays. Let teg idea of Cam playing again rest finally. He is done and he deserves to be.

I read that Arians is a real doucher. Also, he was not forced out as head coach was he? I thought he just retired?

I think all three of our QB's on the ganeday roster should get starts the rest of the way just to evaluate. I'd say a couple for Baker a and a coioek for Sam and PJ a couple more to or however many games left. Give everyone a shot and let's evaluate with a line performing better and a coach that isn't an imbecile.

Who do you want us to draft? I am assuming a quarterback but who is your guy that you feel will be the franchise changer that you have to have us fail and lose out to the point that you say fug the players and coaches? I see that our short term success in your eyes depends on us getting pick one or two so who is your guy that is the guarantee in this draft?

Statistically speaking the variance of a true number one overall pick versus even a top 10 pick in terms of success rate is better however it is fairly marginal to the point of not understanding our "tanker" crowd and their hell bent position of whining every time our team does well. Its almost comical if i may. Statistically speaking less than half of first round QB's eclipse even a 4,000 yard / 24 TD season. Just about half of those don't even make it to a second contract. Now if you are talking about a first overall QB true number 1 pick then they do get better statistics wise of course that's a given but my whole point is if we don't get this number 1 overall pick it is still very possible to find a great QB. For every amazing franchise changing number 1 overall QB taken one could easily match it with a huge let down taken number 2 overall so unless we get the true number 1 overall pick that discussion is pretty invalid. There is no confusion here at all but thank you for your concern.

I just don't get it. So many want us to tank to hell and back and seem very angry when we win or even perform well then make excuses for why our team performed well like "They were lucky" or "The team they played sucked" etc...Damn, when they are that miserable why even bother watching? It HAS to feel so weird to turn their tv's on each week and WANT to see your team get destroyed and beaten down. And then as you said, there is no true cut number one overall player without any potential drawbacks that seems like an overall guarantee such as a Luck, Cam or a Payton Manning in this draft. To me, if i were going to root for my team to fail and get beaten to pieces every week I would at least pick a year that had the closest thing to a cant miss type player that there was but that does not exist this year and even with that I don't think I could turn on my tv and root against the team I love or get mad when the guys perform well. I'm not knocking others opinions but I just don't understand that mindset or concept as a whole. It's like some of these people think that a number one overall pick guarantees success and there has never been a bad ass player or QB for that matter taken with later picks. It just all puzzles me to see some of our fellow fans get pissed off when we do well in any given game. We are not winning a Superbowl this year I realize but why not just watch and enjoy each game still rooting on our team? The worst possible guy for the job of head coach is now gone so the slow climb up and the steady improvement will be fun to support and witness. Jacksonville tanked their lives away for years with number 1 picks and they really don't look like it benefitted them much is all im trying to say.

Defintely not a team looking to lose....
YourLastThought replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
After seeing this I don't know how anyone could think Horn was not a good pick. He appears to bring something to the team extra that cant be coached in his natural leadership. He should probably have a "C" on his jersey next season. Seems like a good dude and very mannerly as well.
