Panthers win Sunday…1st place in the South
Luciu5 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
We've won 1 game post Rhule. Could we win Sunday? Sure. Can we win 4 more after that? There's a good chance PJ turns back into a pumpkin and we collapse. Right now, I still think top 10 pick. -
The formula is complicated. No, I don't think we'd get a 3rd though. It has to do with salary, playing time, post season awards, etc. That stuff isn't determined until the end of the following year before the draft. And if we sign a similar caliber player, it will offset the comp pick. If Baker is on a new team and is a pro bowler next year, then we might get a 3rd. There is also a limited number of comp picks each year league wide.

Inside the Carolina Panthers' three seasons of quarterback failure
Luciu5 replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
Incredible article. And at this point, any benefit of the doubt I gave Rhule, was clearly too much. Though I kinda realized that after the first few games of the year, but this just makes it clear that not only was he in over his head, but was entirely clueless and self defeating. -
Albert Breer talks Panthers, Burns, and details McCaffrey trade...
Luciu5 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been saying this for a while. Defense is good enough. O line is great now. We have some weapons. We still need some pieces - DE/Edge, MLB, DT, TE, WR maybe RB, but overall we can drop a QB in and be competitive. Many of these can be fixed in this upcoming draft if they hit on the 2nds. We could be playoff competitive in 2024 with the right QB and HC. -
Who is Henry Anderson? Can we get a 1st for him?

8 of our 10 remaining games are winnable.

I think that's how most football games are won... -
Ladies and Gents say hello to your 2023 starting QB

I don't think I understand this thread. -
I'm fine with 2 firsts for Burns if one of them is top 15 in 2023.

Updated Cap for 2023 after the CMC trade……

I mean, it's 3 restructures. -
Shaq isn't bad. Just overpaid. He's a mid tier linebacker but with a top 10 salary. I don't get the vitriol over his contract though. It really hasn't been an issue and I think fans worry about cap hits more than they need to. The linebacker group as a whole isn't way out of line cap wise, and that's how many teams manage capspace, by position group. I wouldn't trade him for less than a 3rd personally. Either way, he's gone after this year anyways most likely.

Not sure if it's been said, but it could be weighted by pass block plays/run block plays.
-
I agree he's an idiot. But that's not the same as stupid or dumb. Different connotation imo. Idiot doesn't speak to someone's intelligence. More along the lines of foolish.
-
Because he speaks with a different dialect? So are all British people fuging stupid as well? Odd as this sounds, his spelling was perfect for the dialect he was portraying. When "finna" is spelled correctly and he made sure autocorrect didn't fix it. I guarantee he isn't as "stupid" as people think. His dialect is his dialect, same as British or Aussies have a dialect, and he types to match his dialect intentionally. You're just racist. Straight up.

"...he planned to wear a different jersey of a Carolinas sports legend to each home game this year, and will eventually get it signed by that athlete and then auction it off to benefit their charity."
-
That wasn't exact wording. He said "it's an attractive job", then there was a stammering, a pause, and a shift describing the unicorn job. He basically was saying Carolina is as attractive job as they come because good luck finding that unicorn with a HoF QB already in place.
-
No he didn't....

One thing I want to mention, which I haven't seen mentioned here yet, though I haven't read through all the threads yet, Ed Foley was also fired, who was also another of Rhule's guys.
-
Not sure how you read anything from that presser. Tepper was vague for the most part and the rest of the time he was combative. He didn't give a real answer to any of the questions asked.

Can't wait to here the stories that come out. Bet Smitty will have something to say if he aint' said it already.
-
I feel like I should be glad I'm not watching this poo.
-
Took way too long for someone to pick him up imo.
-
It'll take 1000% improvement for anyone's job to be saved. Matt Rhule had his chance and I supported him 100%. He's not getting it done. No matter the cause of our offensive issues these last 2+ seasons, it's time for another group to try their hand with this team. Other coaches in the league are doing more with less.
