It could also be the read order of the play. Zylstra was open-ish and there may have been hesitation because of how tight the window would be, then the decision to take off. You don't usually skip your first read if that is open. Really, really hard to say what happened here though, and why the ball didn't go out. He had 3 guys open at different points. Did he look to Ian first? I can't tell if he ever looked that far. If so, he didn't give the play enough time to develop, because he was the most open target of the 3 open receivers. Moore was also open and could have been thrown open even more, but Moore was likely the last read and he never got that far.

Cap can be manipulated. Draft picks cannot be very well. So to me, picks>>>>>>>cap.

If they blitz every down we are either going to be destroyed or we'll pick them apart. It's impossible to know with this team. Will the defense get back on track? Will our oline and Cam fall apart vs their blitzes? It really could go either way. On paper we should win this very easily, but we should have won last week fairly easily.

Moore was wide open but I'm not sure what happened. It would have been a real long bomb and idk if Cam thought it was too far or just too late. Either way, timing was completely wrong on that play which is why there was the snafu with Tremble on the sideline.

Just one note, Sean Ryan had nothing to do with Teddy Bridgewater. Jake Peetz was QB coach last year. This is Sean Ryan's first year with the Panthers.

Tepper said after firing Ron something like he might not get it right on the first try. Hopefully the first one takes us to the super bowl, but it might take a few tries at coaching staffs. Be patient. Also one other thing about Tepper. I hear a lot about impatience; there is almost a narrative that he isn't a patient person, which this is mostly centered around QB's. You have to remember his day job is on Wall Street. There is an adage that goes "The stock market is an instrument to transfer money from the impatient to the patient." David Tepper is good at the stock market which means he is 1. patient and 2. unemotional.

Sam Darnold held us back quite a bit this year. That loss to the Giants? He threw 3 picks. That's on Sam. You don't win games when you throw 3 picks. That wasn't the only game like that either. The Patriots game was just as bad. Eagles he threw several picks, etc. If Sam Darnold wasn't our QB, we would be pretty much a lock for the playoffs at this point. The Darnold decision was on the coaching staff/FO. But so is the Cam decision. (You can speculate differently, but until there is evidence, all it is is fantasy.) Too little too late? Maybe, sure, but potentially having a good QB going into next year IS promising.

He has been the best at LT for weeks now. Since post-Giants game his play at LT has taken massive steps forward. Rookie was bad first half the season? No poo sherlock. Also just cause this place calls someone a bust after 7 games and limited snaps just shows how idiotic this place can be. it's hard to say I think because of the flux in the offense. Darnold balls out 3-4 games. Darnold poops the bed and gets reckless the next few. Receivers can't catch anymore. Then Darnold no longer the #1 and now we have Cam who doesn't know the playbook. It's like day, night, day -- the offense keeps changing due to the execution on the field and the QB change. Brady does need to add in play action. We did 0 play action passes on sunday. With the way McCaffery was getting yards on the ground, play action could have tore that defense up.

He needs to be the starter there. He has consistently shown he's the best option at LT so far. He needs more time there to show he can keep it up over more snaps.

I don't think I get it. 1st, 2nd, and 4th are all equal in scoring. What do you mean they figure us out? How are the other quarters outside of the 3rd different? They are 1-2 pt difference -- ie statistically insignificant. The 3rd is a huge wtf though. Defensively, look at the avg from your next post last year compared to this year. That's a massive improvement fyi.

Eh, Cam has been doing this for 10 years about. Every guy in the NFL and everybody in college knows who Cam Newton is. I find it hard to believe anybody in the football universe either doesn't know who Cam is (literally) or doesn't know who Cam is (figuratively).

Just based on the picture, this is probably a flood on that side of the field with Robby on the go route, Marshall with a dig, and CMC was probably a curl or something underneath. The corner is going to have to make a choice who to cover -- hand Marshall off to the LB'ers or help the safety with Robby. All 3 appear to be in position to have leverage once the break occurs. IIRC this was a 3rd and short play, ball went to CMC and he got a first down, which was the safe choice on 3rd down, as he'd be the first to be ready and at the sticks, especially if there's pressure. All that ^ is speculation though based on a picture that could literally be just about anything. Marshall might be running the wrong route for all we know. The ball went to CMC, so I doubt either Marshall or Robby completed their routes so honestly, even with All 22, we'll never know what this play is suppose to look like, all we can do is guess. TL;DR - people are dumb and you can't usually tell much from a still image from a football game. Only a moron would think this picture says anything one way or another about the playcall.

I would think there would be some kind of documented backlash from this after reading your post, the article, etc. What was said to the players behind closed doors? I hate to do this, buuuuut, QB isn't locked in past this year. It's hard to say if he'll be back next year. I think he will be. I think the coaches would be fools to let Cam walk. Today was the best QB play we've seen in a long time. Sam looked okay the first 3 weeks, but I don't think even those games did QB play look as good as today.

We would have been annihilated. Defense shat the bed today. We need a MLB and some DE's who can play more against these power run teams. Idk what to think of Brady's playcalling. Cam should get even better as the weeks go on. Cheers for leaving him in all game -- I wasn't expecting that.
