Rhule can talk. He's a natural salesman Yeah put him on tv and he really will have tons of coaching options going forward. Only thing that could spoil that is if players are openly trashing him and which I doubt they will. By all appearances he has not lost the locker room. Those guys were still parroting him in the end of season conferences.
-
He straight up said he might not get it right the first time. He straight up said this might take a few tries. Sorry, that's brutally honest though.

Not saying be happy. Just saying if you keep the coach, no reason to kneecap him. Might as well fire him at that point and save a year. Don't think that's happening, so I don't think Tepper needs to play around in football operations by dictating what happens on the football side. I'm just against owners having in say so in draft picks, selections, players, etc. Hire and fire - that's as far as the owners extent should be.
-
So keep the coach but handicap him and set him up for failure. That's dumb AF. If Rhule isn't fired, Tepper isn't putting roadblocks in. That would be entirely counterproductive. Either fire the guy or keep your hands off the football side of the organization.

What’s your pitch to Aaron Rodgers to come to Carolina

A dose of optimism and why Matt Rhule is great for Tepper
Luciu5 replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
I generally agree with this sentiment, but look at the Lions with Matthew Stafford or the Texans with Watson. The QB matters tremendously but you also need a minimum level of competence in the coaching and front office as well. With an elite QB, you can skate by with average in the other areas. -
Panthers conducting 2nd interview with Jay Gruden today
Luciu5 replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wait I just read a thread on here saying we were going with that RB coach since we did a 2nd interview. Are we getting two OC's or something????? I'm so confused from reading things on this forum!!!!11 -
Did Matt Rhule even really want to be coach of the Panthers?
Luciu5 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
How much is guaranteed exactly? Link to source if you don't mind, cause I've been trying to find that info and haven't been able to. -
Is there a person in the NFL - coach, GM, or otherwise - that you should take entirely at face value? No. The answer is no. These guys aren't going to be 100% honest. Even within the organization, even players, there are politics at play. Everything in media pressers need to be taken with a grain of salt. Is any of this news to you?
-
Why would you hope that?

It's more about hit rate (%). The hit rate after the 1st round drops considerably. There are success from later rounds, but if you look at the NFL right now, a huge percent of starting QB's were 1st round picks, 66% by my math. Many of the others are pretty fringe starters (Heinicke, Jimmy G., etc.). So yes, there are successes after the first round, but those you listed currently in the NFL are rare compared to the number of later round failures. Below gives some more numbers. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/qb-success-rate-by-draft-position-2021-nfl-draft

You don't root against your team. You don't celebrate failure. That's not what fans do. But I already knew you and several others aren't real fans anyway.

Jerry Richardson knew you didn't have to win it all, just some.

Who cares about selling tickets and jerseys? Is that what you want as a fan? This thread topic is a bit disgusting. Winning and greatness isn't easy. You usually fail multiple times before you get there, but once you do, it's a lot easier to stay there. -
So acting like a 12 year old is ok? You're pathetic bro.

Not really sure why this matters. Even if Rhule is fired this offseason, this thread is irrelevant, imo. wtfc

5 plays analyzed from WFT game worth the watch
Luciu5 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Did you watch the game? You should go watch the highlights, even just the first 3 minutes. I mean, I get you have a feeling, but prolly should use your eyes instead. -

It could also be the read order of the play. Zylstra was open-ish and there may have been hesitation because of how tight the window would be, then the decision to take off. You don't usually skip your first read if that is open. Really, really hard to say what happened here though, and why the ball didn't go out. He had 3 guys open at different points. Did he look to Ian first? I can't tell if he ever looked that far. If so, he didn't give the play enough time to develop, because he was the most open target of the 3 open receivers. Moore was also open and could have been thrown open even more, but Moore was likely the last read and he never got that far. -
If they blitz every down we are either going to be destroyed or we'll pick them apart. It's impossible to know with this team. Will the defense get back on track? Will our oline and Cam fall apart vs their blitzes? It really could go either way. On paper we should win this very easily, but we should have won last week fairly easily.

Moore was wide open but I'm not sure what happened. It would have been a real long bomb and idk if Cam thought it was too far or just too late. Either way, timing was completely wrong on that play which is why there was the snafu with Tremble on the sideline.

There is one other guy who has a QB school in MD maybe? He sure did love Darnold after the Texans game though so idk. https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsQB

Just one note, Sean Ryan had nothing to do with Teddy Bridgewater. Jake Peetz was QB coach last year. This is Sean Ryan's first year with the Panthers.

I always thought MLB was a need. Not very high on the list, but definitely a need.

Tepper said after firing Ron something like he might not get it right on the first try. Hopefully the first one takes us to the super bowl, but it might take a few tries at coaching staffs. Be patient. Also one other thing about Tepper. I hear a lot about impatience; there is almost a narrative that he isn't a patient person, which this is mostly centered around QB's. You have to remember his day job is on Wall Street. There is an adage that goes "The stock market is an instrument to transfer money from the impatient to the patient." David Tepper is good at the stock market which means he is 1. patient and 2. unemotional.
