The thing is Matt Rhule might not even be fired. If you listened to Tepper and his presser last year he said when he hired Matt Rhule that they BOTH knew it would be a "5 year plan". I don't know how Tepper keeps getting conned by a used car salesman. Rhule used us being 2nd in the league in passing yards allowed as a metric for showing that the defense improved since he got here when we were 21st in scoring allowed. And Tepper actually believes the BS coming out of his mouth. He's getting played. Teams know we can't stop the run so that's all they do because they don't have to pass the ball along with them constantly having short fields last year.

The Browns weakest link on defense is their DTs. Probably a bottom 3 group. That will be the best performance Elflein has all year.

Matt Rhule disappointed, not discouraged by opening loss
Vox replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
So the COVID ravaged Saints with multiple players and coaches out and Ron Rivera who was starting Dwayne Haskins. I just don't have any faith in this dude. Even if he manages to get us to the playoffs given a miracle who actually think he will be able to outcoach playoff caliber teams and coaches? -

Question. Does anyone know the best coach Matt Rhule has "beaten"? This clown was 0-7 against coaches fired last year. It's absolutely embarassing. -
DeMeco Ryans (49ers D.C.) for me.

I really tried to give Matt Rhule a chance but I keep seeing the same mistakes ever since he was hired in 2020. Run defense is still terrible, penalties, clock management, and the team looked unprepared. I think this team has talent we just need the right coach. I also believe that if Rhule is fired this year we are 100% drafting a QB in 2023 even if we have to move multiple draft picks to move up and get one.

Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses
Vox replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is why I would be hesitant to pay Burns elite EDGE money which is what he's gonna be demanding in extension talks. Teams always run towards him and he gets abused in the run game. If he doesn't improve against the run or at least hits double digit sacks this year I would worry. *7 out of 9* of his sacks last year was when he came in completely unblocked. -
We were heading in the right direction in 2020 we went toe to toe with the Chiefs, Saints, and Packers that year with Teddy. Everyone has soured on Rhule because of his terrible decision to trade for Sam Darnold. I stand by the fact that Darnold made the entire team look like trash along with Rhule because of inexplicably bad he was last season. If we had managed to get Stafford last year I guarantee you there wouldn't be posters clamoring to fire Rhule and millions of threads about how bad he is. QB play dictates everything in this league.

Sam Darnold is always going to look good in practice. His problem is when defenses are allowed to hit you and he starts seeing ghosts. Baker doesn't panic like Darnold does which is why he's gonna be the starter week 1.

It's fake. Check his tweets before posting.

Watson is gonna end up in Seattle. Apparently they're willing to trade all the picks they got for Wilson and some more to land him. It makes sense Pete Carroll is 70 years old and doesn't want a full rebuild. They're probably gonna retool with a younger QB who is better and they have a longer window with.

Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there
Vox replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Daniel Jeremiah on his podcast today said that everyone he has spoken to expects Watson to be the Seahawks QB in 2022. Wondering if you have heard this? @Verge -
BREAKING NEWS Deshaun Watson now willing to be traded to CAROLINA
Vox replied to Woot's topic in Carolina Panthers
You guys are thinking short term. If we trade for Watson we're talking about a franchise top 5 guy for the next 10+ years. it will be worth it. We aren't giving away 10+ years of draft capital lmao. -

There is no guarantee we find a franchise QB within the next several years. These kinds of opportunities don't come along. We aren't going to be high enough to draft a guy which means we would have to do what the 49ers did and trade 3 1sts anyway to move up and grab someone that is unproven unlike Watson. QB purgatory is the worst place to be in the NFL and if you have a chance to get a guy you do it. -

Anyone who thinks adding a 26 year old top 5 QB to this team doesn't make us better I don't know what to tell you lmao. I'm all for trading for him if it means we just give up picks and not players. -
BREAKING NEWS Deshaun Watson now willing to be traded to CAROLINA
Vox replied to Woot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Go and look how bad the Houston defense was the year they went 4-12. Time of possession would've been lop sided they had the 32nd ranked yards per carry allowed, 27th in total points allowed (384), 29th ranked pass defense. The previous two years Watson made the playoffs and won his division. On our team we would easily be a playoff team with him. -
Doug Pederson just last year. He was fired the week after Black Monday.

Panthers Bringing back Rhule. Planning to start OC search next week

A OC candidate to keep an eye on is Bill O'Brien. He has ties to Matt Rhule. -

If Rhule misses out on Watson or Wilson he's gonna draft Kenny Pickett he knows we need a QB to win and save his job. -

Rhule is the one who will push for it. Our 1st is gonna be worth more because it will be top 6. It makes sense if you look at it from Rhule's perspective. If he dosen't make the playoffs in 2022 he knows he's gone, so he will want a QB that can trust to carry the team but i don't know what this clown is thinking because our o line will still be trash. -

That quote is from Joe Persons article. He's very connected with the Panthers. Not David Newton. -

I'm telling you guys Rhule and Tepper are about to trade for Watson fuging our future for the forseeable future. Reports last offseason were that we were willing to give up 3 1sts and 2 2nds for him. -
Remember guys noone knows what's gonna happen except for Tepper. https://www.nfl.com/news/doug-pederson-likely-to-remain-as-eagles-head-coach This was just last year and Ian reported that Doug Pederson would return as Eagles coach for 2021, however he was fired. Ian Rapoport also reported that Cam would be our starter after Matt Rhule was hired. We just gotta wait it out and see what happens at the end of the season.
