Everyone knew our first offensive play was going to be a run up the gut with CMC including the Patriots. Why not use him as a decoy on the first play? Brady had no idea how to throw defenses off balance.

So this was or wasn’t a hospital ball by Darnold?
Tr3ach replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it just as much if not has more to do with the fact that the offensive line actually looks almost competent when run blocking. Unfortunately the same cant be said for pass blocking. I do think they should have went for a deep ball on one or two of those 2nd and 1 qb sneaks and that is another reason our offense and Darnold is struggling. Our offense is predictable. The coaching staff has no idea how to run a balanced offense to try to catch the opponent off guard or confuse them. -
It is crazy how much we have regressed since the first few games. That partially has to point towards play calling and other teams getting film.

They heard the media say it once when criticizing Darnold so they are going to repeat it any time there is a hit on the football field. -

Look at that, Sam literally placed the ball specifically in a place to try to prevent a hospital ball for Moore. -

The people calling that a hospital ball are just repeating a term they've heard and have no idea what a hospital ball is. There is going to be a deep safety on most plays. He didn't lead him into it and he didnt have to reach or stretch for it. The safety came from deeper down field. In no way a hospital ball just a football play. They will happen from time to time. -

Our offensive coaches have no idea how to run a balanced offense or how to be unpredictable. We are either pass happy or run happy and it puts us constantly in situations where the defense knows exactly what we are going to do. -

You know enough about nfl football to know you have to maintain control going to the ground when youre out of bounds. If he had held onto it there would have been no question. You constantly bash Darnold when he deserves it, it's fair to say that was on DJ too. -

That was 100% a drop. -
Chris Simms: People have caught on to the Panthers offense.
Tr3ach replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
Definitely. You dont have to reinvent the wheel but you do try to disguise what you're doing and confuse the defense to make mistakes. Going by multiple db's on other teams saying they knew the routes that were coming, that's obviously not happening. Whose fault that is is a different question that I think is divided up between a handful of people. -

Exactly. From where we are it's a chicken or the egg thing. Is Darnold making the plays look bad or is the play calling being repetitive making Darnold (who already makes bad decisions) look worse. Our offense looked bad last year and Teddy caught all the blame. Hes looking pretty solid in Denver. There is one thing that ties this years offense and last years offense together and it's not Darnold. -
Rapaport: Panthers/ Tepper out of Watson deal
Tr3ach replied to FugginPoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Basically I'm just making an argument against all the people saying these 2 examples specifically didnt come here because of Tepper or Rhule. We have no idea about any of that. -

Tr3ach replied to FugginPoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. Everyone flipping out and saying it's the owner and coaching staff. It may not even be football related. The tax difference is huge and believe it or not a lot of people actually would prefer to live in Miami over Charlotte. The stafford conversation is the same. LA and Charlotte are totally different things. He was also on vacation with McVay at the time they announced the trade. There are a lot more possible factors than we know for all the fans and their doomsday scenarios. -
Not stellar? They are one of the worst in the league if not the worst by almost any measure.

It doesnt matter who the starting qb is or who you or the coaches want to make the scapegoat for the losing streak. Until the oline learns to block, the oc learns to call plays and the wrs get back to learning how to get open/catch the ball, they are going to lose. These are team losses. The coaches arent coaching well and most of the players arent playing well.

He had plenty of room to grab the first and I'm not sure if you saw the pocket or not but he clearly had to get rid of it.. -
I believe the second a team activates him he will be placed on the commissioners exemption list.

How in the hell did Taylor get 10 solo tackles?
Tr3ach replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think you are definitely looking at him overly negatively. Two of the catches he gave up off the top of my head he was in perfect position for and made a play to swat at the ball and the receivers just made a great play. Also the infamous PFF (I know I know) had him rated as the third highest graded player on the defense. Does that mean anything? I think it at least means he played decent. Especially for a 5th round rookie. -
Or we dont have much confidence in the offensive line to block for the qb, or we dont have much confidence in the OC calling plays to get our WRs open, or we dont have much confidence in our WRs to catch the ball, or maybe they just think they need to focus on the run game a little more which it seems like they barely use sometimes. There are lots of ways that blame game could go.

Me neither. I'm agreeing that it wasnt the problem with the drops.
-
I haven't seen many unnecessary rocket short passes. The one I would say maybe is the one to Hubbard near the end that he dropped. None of the rest would I say were thrown especially hard unnecessarily.
-
Chuba has shown to have terrible hands so far and thats not just because of yesterday. I feel like on the season he has had more drops than catches.
