  1. To be fair Burns didnt look great either. I noticed a few plays like that in the first 3 quarters of the game where it seemed like he totally gave up on any kind of pass rush.
  2. Honestly he kind of got lucky with that play. The secondary just quit defending when he ran to the side. The underneath guy badly was talking about had no one around him for 15 yards instantly and he didnt throw it. It would have easily been a 30 yard gain or more. In the rain you take that all day.
  3. It goes both ways on who it is. Look at elfelin. One of the higher graded guys on pff last week and everyone says pff is junk. It all depends on how pff grade lines up with our personal opinions and thats how legit it is. PFF is pretty solid at some positions and weak at others. I would say it is fairly weak with the lines in general.
  4. Is this just from week 1? Week 1 is always wonky I wouldnt put too much stock into any stats from that. It's too small of a sample size. Could it continue? It definitely could, but one game doesnt really tell you any kind of story yet. I believe the oline will gel and improve, the d line I'm much less sure about.
  5. The weakness of the Cle defense on paper is their interior d line. That was the game plan going in with the run game.
  6. I dont know that I agree with that. Icky barely got a hand on him because he short set the edge. As far as his drop back, the dline was able to jump and bat down passes all day. Hes not a big QB. Hes got to drop back a little further to help create throwing lanes. I never saw one oline man knock the defender on their butt when they were jumping to knock those passes down. Lay them out a few times and they will ease up on that.
  7. To be fair the play calling is meant to cause confusion and busted coverages. That's what plays are drawn up to do in general.
  8. Shatley Springs is better if that's the type of food you're going for.
  9. I still think the panthers should ditch spartanburg and have training camp up here. Better setup and dont have to deal with those scorching hot days.
  10. If we end up picking in the top 5 or 6 again this year then it will almost certainly be for a qb. So I'd say no. Honestly MC has the best chance to play in the future if we are mediocre this season but I think that's the worst outcome for the team overall.
  11. Personnel definitely plays a big role. They are undersized and fast for the most part. When they started stopping the run it was because they were selling out to stop it. Also it seemed to help a lot when we brought the new guy in near the end. Also our lbs in general were nonexistent it felt like.
  12. The qb was 18/34 for 147 yards with the defense selling out to stop the run. The CBs werent really the problem.
  13. No, you cant think like that. They only mean what they say if its negative and the huddle agrees with it. Anything else is just because of ulterior motives. We must be negative!
  14. It's been clear from the start that the players like Rhule and have bought into what he says (especially this year) no matter what the conspiracy theorists say to get the spin that they want. If someone says Rhule sucks then they agree wholeheartedly, if a player or someone says Rhule is good then they are just saying it because they have to. Its ridiculous. Just because you feel some way doesnt mean you're right. You're seeing ghosts as one has said.
  15. I agree. I think it we didn't have such a brutal schedule this season I would expect us to at least come really close to the playoffs at worst. To do that this season we are definitely going to have to earn it by beating some really good teams.
  16. If you have 5 tight ends, you actually have 0 tight ends.
  17. Needing a position and there being a good value deal out there are two TOTALLY different things... just because you need a specific position doesnt mean a deal is there. This isnt madden.
  18. The biggest problem is Chubba doesnt fit what we need now as a 3rd rb. Foreman is our power back. 3rd rb would mostly be needed if CMC went down and you cant have a 3rd rb with stone hands. You almost have to totally change the offense when hes in there.
  19. I think he also won the farthest throw competition that day as well but I cant remember for sure. If he didn't he was up there with the furthest.
  20. He also ruined his body and could barely throw by around 30 and started having nagging injuries regularly. Alpha doesnt have to have anything to do with size. Was jamarcus Russell an alpha? He fits your qualifications for the most part.
  21. I will start. A couple of the regular spots I feel better about this season. Qb play I think will be average at worst which is a good step up and I feel good about our rb depth if/when CMC goes down. 1. The oline geling and their pass blocking specifically. On paper its much improved but it's a question mark for now. 2. Our dline in general. Can they get pressure besides Burns? We have the secondary to cover but how long will they be covering for? 3. How will our interior D line and lbs be stopping the run? 4. Our schedule is pretty brutal. Not many easy games on there at all outside of division games.
  22. A lot of the mods are part of it unfortunately. If you dont add anything besides "rhule sucks" in every post then you are being blindly optimistic apparently.
  23. Because literally every posts turns into the exact same people making the exact same post every time. Every post devolves into the exact same point being made (rhule sucks we get it) no matter what the original post is or if it has anything to do with Rhule in general. Not every single post has to turn into Rhule sucks. Its ridiculous at this point.
