I would trade Bryce for him in a heartbeat.
-
Good start, it's not sustainable if they continue to set every pass play to be from los to 5 or 6 yards deep. It will work for a little bit but then will get blown up.
-
I don't think he was a redshift but he is a sr. He's only 22 and didn't play any his freshman year. He has 3 years of stats and has improved each season.

Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson
Tr3ach replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They have contributed but I wouldn't say any of them have looked especially good or like difference makers. So far they look like if they were on a team that didn't have the least talent in the NFL they wouldn't have seen the field yet. -

Morgan ruined any grace i was giving at the draft. This draft felt exactly like a Fitterer draft and I was no longer willing to give him a pass for all the awful moves while he was Fitts right hand man. He may be qualified for the job but that doesn't mean he's good at it. His eye for talent doesn't seem very good and he's drafting specialized players that mostly fit in old schemes that don't work anymore. I'm more done on Morgan than anyone. Canales I think should get more time. Even though the train wreck that we call our "defense" would be awful no matter who the coach was, I'm also done with Evero. It's not his fault they're terrible, I just hate his soft scheme and play calling. -
Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson

I think that's incorrect for the most part. You build your foundation through the draft and then fill in the rest around them once you have a solid enough foundation. -
Exactly. I loved him when he was here but his main strengths were big arm and mobility for his size and able to take hits. I'm not saying he didn't have other strengths but those were his biggest ones. Those are the main two things that made him special and the first two things that start to go with age.

They've got to learn to draft before they will ever be able to get out of this awful "rebuild" stage. Until then it's just a snake eating it's tail. -

Yea that 2nd int was entirely on him. Dalton trusted him in a 1v1 match up and threw it pretty much blindly and Johnson totally quit on the route. #1 receivers don't do that. -
Morgan doesn't need to be. Neither does our scouting department. You can never turn around a team devoid of talent until you can consistently add it through the draft and we haven't been able to do that in a very long time.
-
Gotta blitz, and sometimes send more than 5 which we literally never do
-
We have to be one of the slowest teams in the NFL in an era where speed and quickness are the most important aspects.
-
Morgan can't draft and our scouting team is garbage. Its what I was afraid of before the draft and confirmed imo immediately after the draft.
-
This soft defense play calling is ridiculous
-
Good thing we never blitz, especially more than 5. Could you imagine how bad the defense could be? Thank goodness we keep everyone in soft coverage.

Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
Tr3ach replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
So far to me he seems like a guy that needs to stick to college. He can get by with name recognition and sizzle in college. I haven't seen anything special about him from a coaching perspective, and the way he talks to and coaches college kids won't work with grown men. -
In what strange parallel dimension is LB our biggest need
Tr3ach replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wish we would go back to 4-3 base defense anyways. We are in nickel 80% of the time. I'm just not a fan of 34. It feels the most dated against modern offensive schemes. -
What would you be looking to accomplish right this second with a billboard?

Are we now actively pulling for David Tepper to fail?
Tr3ach replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
No? I would much rather him continue to learn from his experience/mistakes. He clearly wants to win, he clearly came in mistakenly thinking he knew more than everyone else. He definitely seems to be taking a step back. I have no idea why anyone would cheer for the team to be bad long term, especially when that doesn't guarantee in any way that he would even sell the team if so. -
I honestly am still on the side of stack defense, especially pass rushers this draft and sign a stop gap qb till next year. Being forced to pass most of the time because you're playing from behind because your defense cant stop anyone isn't good for any qb, especially a rookie, especially with how good our running game has looked when we are able to use it before having to go one dimensional every game because of the score.

Mike Kaye: Panthers might start Bryce Young final 7 games
Tr3ach replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our offense has been much more explosive with Dalton in there? In literally every facet. Every single player on the offense has improved statistically with Dalton at qb. -

Spoiler alert - he's not. I think Canales is already pretty sure of that. -

If this is a quote taken from the processing blue podcast this morning then it's definitely cropped in a way to make it seem more more official than what he said on the podcast. On the podcast he had no idea what was going to happen and threw it out hypothetically that if we didn't play him again this season then he was definitely done here and he didn't know if or when they would play him but he thought after these next few winnable games that if we lose them then he sees a world where they might as well play young. He definitely wasn't declaring anything or talking like he had some inside information -
I agree. There is no way any coach could make our defense good consistently. I just think there is a stubbornness to not try things or change the approach.
