Morgan wants to build a team like it's 1999. In 99 running backs were really valuable.

Right now, especially with the injuries and awful play in general on defense, I'm raiding teams practice squads just to take flyers on guys with potential. Like Shaka Heyward on Bengals practice squad or Andre Carter on the vikings practice squad. I believe both those guys are still on the practice squad.

The thing with drafting guys for potential is they need to be young. Not a bunch of 5th year seniors. Those guys are pretty much what they're going to be. I also don't even see the really high ceiling on most of these guys. Good size and fast 40 aren't all it takes to have a high potential ceiling.

I think xl looks exactly like i thought he would before the draft. No separation and limited route tree. The drops and body catching have been a bit of a surprise. I wouldn't say he's looked horrible. I will sau he hasn't done anything to ease my concerns. I also think Coker looked better with less opportunities

Even his draft of players to surround Bryce with this past draft are looking horrible. None of them pass the eye test of being difference makers so far. Hopefully that will change but I wasn't a fan of the draft at all at the time and I'm still not. Coker shows the most promise of any of our younger wr and he wasn't even drafted.

Both. Our gms are always obsessed with old ideologies of teams that don't work anymore and I have no idea how we haven't thrown out our entire scouting department in the past few years. I don't think we have replaced hardly any of our scouting department over the year even though we are the worst drafting team in the league. It makes absolutely no sense.

My biggest problem is that we never value route running or quickness or explosiveness in our evaluations of receivers. We look at height/weight and 40 time. That seems to literally be all.

I really wonder what the hit rate is on all these 5th year "raw" prospects. I also wonder why we seem to be the only team rushing to draft them.

Their RAS scores are only high because all of them refuse to do the agility drills.

They are obsessed with drafting the same type of physical receiver every draft for years, no matter who the gm is. None of them have worked. I have no idea why the front office is obsessed with chasing old dated player types and teams.

No one said the season was saved. People said the game is much more watchable and we might go from 0 wins this season to 4 or 5. -

Pass rusher. Pass rushers and adding playmakers to the defense. That said we are the worst drafting team in the NFL so who knows. -

We've just got to start targeting quick shifty route runners in the draft instead of big stiff receivers who are fast once they get going like it's the 90s.

I agree about Dalton for sure. Bring him back for another year and go all in on defense this draft. Especially pass rushers.

The way the upcoming draft is shaking out on paper so far, I honestly think we should just bring Dalton back for another year and just draft defense. We have to have the worst front 7 by far and 0 pass rush. Upcoming draft is full of pass rushers especially. Don't reach for a qb out of need and just add some talent to this borderline talentless defense.

This I agree with. An aggressive creative DC can scheme up pressure from time to time the same way a good OC can scheme receivers open. I think Evero is a pretty decent DC, I just personally prefer a more aggressive style.

He's a very specialized player. He's not fast and also a bit undersized with the specific skill set of deeper seam routes. Hopefully he develops and is a great player for us but like with most of this recent draft, I don't really feel great about him.

Historically Alabama isn't where you want to go for quarterbacks or offensive tackles.

I'm just never going to feel good about a Bama qb. Too much talent around them to tell anything.
