Or maybe hes just speaking the truth to him? This place only agrees with things that parrot what they think anymore. Anything else is wrong or they're just saying it because they have to. Maybe these players and such know more than we do? Nah.

Avoiding pressure in the pocket isnt really an athletic thing. It's more of just feeling the pressure and moving to help set up the blocks. There are plenty of good qbs who dont scramble out of the pocket very often but have an excellent feel for avoiding pressure.

Joe Person on Carolina’s recent staffing moves.

I've only read the quote but to be fair, saying "I really have to think" is him saying his opinion, not stuff he has heard from the inside nesscesarily. -
I don't get the Josh Allen comparisons at all besides a strong arm. I feel like there are two main things the huddle overreacts to with quarterbacks. Elite arm strength and their running ability. I'm not saying those things arent positives, just saying people here seem to really overrate them.

Yea, I have no idea for the most part. I've learned that from being wrong enough to realize that. Some people havent learned that lesson I suppose. I'm not sold on him either. He reminds me of how Hornets used to draft with Cho. Take the "safest" player with the lowest floor, but really there is no safe pick and you never know how players are going to adjust to the nfl game. Several of the best qbs of all time didnt have any "elite" traits early on. I would rather them beef up the oline, but I try to get too caught up in the poo poo'ing of everything just because our current regime has seemed incompetent.

All these comments feel so much like the Mac Jones posts this time last year.

That sounds like they do have an eye for talent though. To bring all those guys in. Perryman and Apple milked injuries and didnt want to play it seemed. Douglas looked really good at first and then fell off some.

“If you have a QB you like, You take a shot there”

Or he answered that question in his quote. "If you find a QB you like." -
Being aggressive in free agency and trades wins.

If you win the super bowl then I guess you could make the argument that it doesnt matter. If you are one of the other 31 teams that tries to win it and fails then yes, I would say it 100% matters. -

It does to an extent, but it also decreases your window. In a couple seasons the Rams will be the oldest team in the league and cap strapped most likely. -
Well there are 2 groups of drama in this situation. The biggest group was going to be mad no matter who they picked. The other group doesn't really understand that there arent going to be that many potential "sexy" coordinator picks without an entirely new coaching staff's. Coordinators don't really make parallel moves so you are usually hiring someone that flamed out as a head coach or you're hiring a young gun inexperienced coach, and if they had brought in another young guy with limited experience then this place would have also molted down.

There arent many Burrows around though. Some of the qbs currently considered great would look below average behind a terrible o line.
-
Hes got potential but I think maybe too much value is being put into having a strong arm specifically.
-
Sustained offensive drives and less bad field position would be the best help for our defense. I also think they still finished as a top 5 defense in a lot of metrics even with those factors.
-
They wanted him gone because he refused to step on the field during training camp mostly.
-
He would never get on the field in training camp. Most people were celebrating the fact we got anything for him at the time.

Rhule set to appear on WFNZ Thursday morning
Tr3ach replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
From what I remember and I could be mistaken, most people here that liked Slater didnt really love him at 8. Predraft they thought if Sewell was gone that he would be a candidate to trade back a few spots and take. -

How he played during the season doesnt change what they saw when scouting before the draft. Did they miss? Obviously, but people reading anything else into this statement are reaching because of their Rhule hatred. -

He just answered honestly though. Hes constantly getting bashed for lying as he should but then he gives an honest answer obviously at his own expense and it's the same thing. -

I dont think that is a terrible thing to say. He wasnt saying he wasnt good I dont think. Scouting and drafting a player isnt an exact science. He was just expressing their concerns about him as a prospect. I think it was a very honest answer. He could have made up anything and instead he gave an honest answer about their scouting. Everyone misses. Even Horn pans out then it wasnt even a miss. It was just bad prioritizing. -
I disagree. I believe he has definitely invested in the area and has started clear long term plans. I actually dont think he could have possibly cemented himself to the area any more than he has so far.
