Sam Darnold likely starting again for last few games
Tr3ach replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I dont think Sam has any worse chance than Cam. Neither have a very good chance. Cam is what 0-12 now? That's not all on him obviously but the people who are dead set on him being the best chance to win should see their being stans. At least a little bit. -

This is a silly take. Which qb has had a more recent win with the team when they started? Neither qb is likely to win with this team. -
ESPN suggests 2 QBs for 2022 for the Panthers...

Nah they are done with those moves. No more stop gaps or trying to make a mediocre qb better -
Yea the biggest issue I've seen is he is inaccurate early on especially and then he settles in. He also has some bad footwork throwing to the opposite of the field sometimes and when he misses he seems to miss short but it's not an arm strength issue. Hes got all the tools it's just if he can improve a handful of mechanics or not.

I havent got to deep dive yet but so far I agree even though I think Ridder from Cinci flashes a lot of potential too and you dont hear too much about him yet.

We are DOOMED! Panthers expect Rhule back for 2022...WTF
Tr3ach replied to usmcpanthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
You dont say? -
I remember when everyone said this same stuff when they heard we were interested in Mac Jones last year.
-
I do agree they should have played some but it's not always common for rookies to come in and make an instant impact. Sometimes some time before being thrown in the fire is better. Again I dont think that is really the case here because it couldnt get much worse but I am saying if you're looking for mid to late round rookies to come in and save you that's not always for the best.

Help what? It's true. Hes had an awful season. Most people were ready to get rid of him a few weeks ago...
-
So many are just overreacting to overreact now. Have they done some stupid things? Definitely. Improve the oline in the offseason and try to figure out the solution for qb and the pieces are already in place to be a borderline great team. An offensive coordinator who knows how to adjust and be balanced would make a huge impact as well.
-
Robby probably isnt the best representative for the team after skipping all the non mandatory camp before the season started and then having the season hes had.
-
Sam started a lot more games behind that line than Cam has.
-
It has been a complete roster turn over and a coaching staff with no experience in under 2 seasons. We have much less holes overall in the roster than we had before. Our holes are just glaring and clear now. Which isnt really a bad thing. The coaching staff has definitely made lots of mistakes but that's part of getting that experience and learning to coach at this level. He may not be the answer at head coach in the long run but getting rid of him in under 2 whole seasons in the situations I mentioned previously is a completely knee jerk reaction.
-
I really dont think he will be fired this season.
-
Couldnt it be both though? Hes mad because hes a Rhule fan and some are making it a bigger thing because they want Rhule gone. Most answers are somewhere in the middle.
-
He makes a good point though. It doesnt happen often and it appears when it does happen literally moments before the game most teams appear to not be prepared.
-
You can only play the hand you're dealt.

If we tear it all down again how long would it take...
Tr3ach replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only thing I will say is most of those teams did that by mortgaging their future and forcing a very small winning window. Not all of them, for example the Bengals. If you want to make a team that has a chance to win for a long time it usually takes more time. -
I get that but you could say that about anyone really. It's no players fault nesscesarily if a team signs them and they are doing their best, and I have no doubt Cam is putting in everything hes got. How many Darnold is awful threads were there after every single loss though? Was it Darnolds fault he was put in the same bad situation or that he was trying hard and it just wasnt good enough because he makes bone headed decisions trying to make things happen?
-
I think they could do it in 2 more seasons but it would take a lot of luck and they would have to let some good players walk to use cap to sign oline.
-
I definitely agree with that. I feel like the roster has a little bit fewer holes than it did last season but the holes it does have are glaring and some of the most important pieces.
-
I'm blaming everyone. That's the thing. So many people on here want to blame everyone but Cam... I dont think this loss was on Cam, but if you critique anything about Cam on here then the poo starts flying.
-
I agree with that. The only thing is everyone is a first time head coach. They all make mistakes while gaining that experience. The question is do they learn from it. We won't really have any idea on that until the offseason.
-
It is a rebuilding team though. They werent really expected to be a really good team this year until they went 3-0.
