  1. How did we not know that this post was going to devolve into the same people doing mental gymnastics to twist everything he said into something negative or dumb. This has been a good offseason, our roster overall has improved, our coaching staff gained a lot of experience, everything he said today was pretty much on the money. Will that equate to more wins this season? Who knows but unlike a lot of the Rhule haters who would rather the team lose so they can be right, I prefer he continues to grow with experience and the team wins. All the people twisting his words or bashing what he said were going to do that literally no matter what he said.
  2. What would have been the non "cheap" route they should have taken in the past 2 years that they didnt? You take as many cheap low risk swings on younger qbs who have the physical tools as you can. You dont sit on your hands and wait.
  3. No there were definitely some articles that said that Rhule was the one not sold on him.
  4. It has been said from inside the organization that Rhule was always lukewarm on the idea. I think it has been confirmed by the timing. If this was something Rhule really wanted it would have happened a while back. Probably at the draft.
  5. It seems like those two statements directly conflict with one another. Bashing him for taking pretty low cost swings for a qb then also saying he has to learn he cant win without a qb...
  6. That's not how in game play calling adjustments work. Some of you really overrate what the head coach does.
  7. That would actually be on the offensive coordinator. Its not the head coaches job to make in game adjustments to the offense. If anything he had more fingerprints on the scripted plays to open the game. The ones that actually worked.
  8. It's against the CBA for the coach to get everyone together right now. They have very specific dates and gaps of time they have to allow. You're just coming up with reasons to hate Rhule now. Also you're making this comment on a post about a couple players stepping up and getting players together so the comment makes even less sense.
  9. Madden ratings are clearly dumb but they also have Baker as the 6th strongest arm in the NFL. Hes definitely not bottom tier when it comes to arm strength.
  10. Yea I never understood most of the hate. Certain media outlets having us in contention for the #1 pick etc. We won 5 games last season, we were 1-7 in one score games. Just becoming average in those games would put us in the running late for a wildcard. Then add (on paper) a much improved oline, a (for now) healthy CMC, Horn back, and a qb that's not Sam Darnold and we may still be a below average team but I also wouldnt find it that shocking if we are in the hunt for a wildcard spot pretty late in the season. Who knows though. I just didnt understand all the rhetoric about being one of the worst teams in the nfl.
  11. Maybe we could being Rosario Dawson back to play TE again as well.
  12. I also, for whatever reason, am just not quite as negative and doom and gloom as most people are with the team right now, I still see potential growth and improvement. Which kind of surprises me because I can be a pretty pessimistic fan sometimes
  13. Also the fact that I would bet if say we surprise everyone and are a wildcard team next season, somehow this time next year I'm sure they would have our "futures ranking" much much higher which wouldnt really make sense for ranking futures but I gurantee that's how it would work. Am I saying we will be a wildcard team next season? Probably not, but I do think we are much improved overall and the games arent played on paper for a reason.
  14. This is fairly silly and skewed. I know this is futures rating but say this season we are the 31st worst team and we take a qb with that 2nd pick. What do you think next year's "futures" rating would look like just by taking a qb that has never played a snap in the nfl. I get it, but it all feels fairly bogus to me.
  15. So many, I dont want us to try to make moves to make the team better because I want Rhule to fail. Such a strange take as a fan. I agree about not giving up too much draft capital but jeez.
  16. Yea, I dont know about this for sure great qb that a lot of people are sure of, I definitely hope they're right, but regardless I know this time will let him go through all the mental reps and time to see things from an nfl qb perspective which is a lot different than hes used to.
  17. Yea it's true with basically all positions but especially qb. It's like when you look up combine records, most of the names are unknowns who never panned out. I still think being given some time and not rushed in is definitely the best thing for Corral and his development.
  18. People overrate physical traits all the time when it comes to qb. Most of the difference between an average QB and a great qb is between the ears. Not how fast they are or how far they throw it. There arent many times the best qb equals the best athlete.
  19. Pre tommy john Delhomme was a pro bowl qb.
  20. This time last year everyone was drooling over Sam Howell and Spencer Rattler as top 5 picks.
  21. Wow for all the people who personally hate Sam Darnold for whatever reason I dont get it. He seems like a really good dude even if hes not a good nfl qb. To reach out to Mayfield the day after he signed and help him get in contact with all the other players and stuff because he wants to win first and foremost is pretty impressive.
  22. No one is giving baker a pass or lower expectations. People are happy we got him because it is another swing for a qb that cost us basically nothing and has no lose condition.
  23. Exactly. I'm not sold on Rhuld but I dont hate him either. I think it all comes down to how he learns from the experience he gains, but even worst case I feel like it should be looked like when the team brings in a player you dont like. You may not like them but if they are on the panthers then I dont understand why you wouldnt want them to be great. I want every player on the roster and every coach on the staff to be great and in my opinion coaches just like players can improve, but regardless in the end I just want to win and I will never cheer for them to lose entirely because i want someone to lose their job.
  24. Yea I'm sure baker definitely shoulders some of the blame. It's just weird that he has turned into this villain while OBJ who has a history of drama and bs comes out smelling like roses and the majority of people seemingly cheering for him to get a sb.
  25. I've been wondering about that too. The main thing everyone mad about the move talks about is how he has a bad attitude and is bad for the locker room and I always heard he was popular with most of his teammates the seasons before that. Its weird how much hate Baker gets for that and OBJ gets a full pass even though he actually has a big history of that type of stuff.
