  1. Of course hes going to say that to the media. He has no reason to say anything else. Also I'm sure all of this is recorded and him and mcadoo are going to rewatch things a lot closer.
  2. On paper they seem to be working together pretty well so far besides the huddle blaming any move they dont like on Rhule and praising fitterer for any move they like.
  3. To be fair in the 2 seasons he took over a very old roster with holes everywhere and now our roster is much younger and much fewer holes overall. It just happens that we still dont know for sure if we have filled the QB hole which is the most important by far.
  4. So many overreactions to a third rounder. Hopefully he becomes great for us and they are setting him up for success but there are reasons he fell to the third round.
  5. This has been posted multiple times. First off Rhule has last say on the roster. Second off if you listen to the whole quote before you try to bash him he was just saying it's the players play the will ultimately decide the starter. Aka it's an open competition.
  6. I'm not talking about previous press conferences. I'm talking about this one.
  7. This feels like more of one of those hindsight is 20/20 things though. A lot of people werent sold on Herbert and there were some questions there. He also went 1 pick in front of us so I'm sure they thought there was a chance he would be there without trading a bunch of draft capital.
  8. He has been here 2 seasons, and inherited a talent void roster that won 5 games the season before and fired their head coach 4 games into that season because it was so bad, he got here and then lost Kuechly, Olsen, and our best offensive player hasnt been healthy for half a season since he got here. I feel like most fans had unrealistic expectations. The roster has been improved a lot overall and as he has gained NFL experience the coaching staff has as well.
  9. How did we not know that this post was going to devolve into the same people doing mental gymnastics to twist everything he said into something negative or dumb. This has been a good offseason, our roster overall has improved, our coaching staff gained a lot of experience, everything he said today was pretty much on the money. Will that equate to more wins this season? Who knows but unlike a lot of the Rhule haters who would rather the team lose so they can be right, I prefer he continues to grow with experience and the team wins. All the people twisting his words or bashing what he said were going to do that literally no matter what he said.
  10. What would have been the non "cheap" route they should have taken in the past 2 years that they didnt? You take as many cheap low risk swings on younger qbs who have the physical tools as you can. You dont sit on your hands and wait.
  11. No there were definitely some articles that said that Rhule was the one not sold on him.
  12. It has been said from inside the organization that Rhule was always lukewarm on the idea. I think it has been confirmed by the timing. If this was something Rhule really wanted it would have happened a while back. Probably at the draft.
  13. It seems like those two statements directly conflict with one another. Bashing him for taking pretty low cost swings for a qb then also saying he has to learn he cant win without a qb...
  14. That's not how in game play calling adjustments work. Some of you really overrate what the head coach does.
  15. That would actually be on the offensive coordinator. Its not the head coaches job to make in game adjustments to the offense. If anything he had more fingerprints on the scripted plays to open the game. The ones that actually worked.
  16. It's against the CBA for the coach to get everyone together right now. They have very specific dates and gaps of time they have to allow. You're just coming up with reasons to hate Rhule now. Also you're making this comment on a post about a couple players stepping up and getting players together so the comment makes even less sense.
  17. Madden ratings are clearly dumb but they also have Baker as the 6th strongest arm in the NFL. Hes definitely not bottom tier when it comes to arm strength.
  18. Yea I never understood most of the hate. Certain media outlets having us in contention for the #1 pick etc. We won 5 games last season, we were 1-7 in one score games. Just becoming average in those games would put us in the running late for a wildcard. Then add (on paper) a much improved oline, a (for now) healthy CMC, Horn back, and a qb that's not Sam Darnold and we may still be a below average team but I also wouldnt find it that shocking if we are in the hunt for a wildcard spot pretty late in the season. Who knows though. I just didnt understand all the rhetoric about being one of the worst teams in the nfl.
  19. Maybe we could being Rosario Dawson back to play TE again as well.
  20. I also, for whatever reason, am just not quite as negative and doom and gloom as most people are with the team right now, I still see potential growth and improvement. Which kind of surprises me because I can be a pretty pessimistic fan sometimes
  21. Also the fact that I would bet if say we surprise everyone and are a wildcard team next season, somehow this time next year I'm sure they would have our "futures ranking" much much higher which wouldnt really make sense for ranking futures but I gurantee that's how it would work. Am I saying we will be a wildcard team next season? Probably not, but I do think we are much improved overall and the games arent played on paper for a reason.
  22. This is fairly silly and skewed. I know this is futures rating but say this season we are the 31st worst team and we take a qb with that 2nd pick. What do you think next year's "futures" rating would look like just by taking a qb that has never played a snap in the nfl. I get it, but it all feels fairly bogus to me.
  23. So many, I dont want us to try to make moves to make the team better because I want Rhule to fail. Such a strange take as a fan. I agree about not giving up too much draft capital but jeez.
  24. Yea, I dont know about this for sure great qb that a lot of people are sure of, I definitely hope they're right, but regardless I know this time will let him go through all the mental reps and time to see things from an nfl qb perspective which is a lot different than hes used to.
  25. Yea it's true with basically all positions but especially qb. It's like when you look up combine records, most of the names are unknowns who never panned out. I still think being given some time and not rushed in is definitely the best thing for Corral and his development.
