What I'm saying is toughness doesn't have any better odds to make a great player than height/weight/speed. An elite talented player with no toughness still may make it to the NFL, an elitely tough player without much talent definitely won't. What I'm trying to say is all of this is a sliding scale and I don't care about this hyper focus on being a "dawg" when we've been one of the worst drafting teams in the NFL both pre and post Morgan hiring. Until he hits on a draft I don't care what he says and will continue to feel like he doesn't know what he's talking about regardless.

That's something that happened to Pearce a lot this season too.

Yep. Most of the hardest working players were never made it to the NFL. Most of the guys who wanted it the most never made it to the NFL. That's why I've never understood people backing up players on here like Legette recently when they say they know he's a hard worker so he will succeed. That guarantees nothing, it helps, but it only helps so much. That's not me taking a shot at XL, he's just a recent example I've heard it a lot.

Agree 100%. If Graham is there we almost have to take him over anyone besides if somehow Carter fell to us.

Sounds good to me, then draft one of the big athletic interior guys in the 2nd like Deone Walker.

Luvu / Chinn….. why did we let them go again?

China never should have been a coverage safety.. -

Luvu didn't want to be here in this scheme and Evero didn't know how to use Chinn in his scheme. Evero doesn't adjust his scheme based on personnel at all. -
Dan Quinn- Meet the Candidate- Part 5 of 12

Slowik has not been good at all this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they fired him. They had the most third and longs in the league this season. -
Teams aren't going to want to take Dak's awful contract. They definitely aren't going to get any value back by trading him. Not this offseason especially. No way a team gives a first for the opportunity to take that giant contract for a qb that is a little above average. I believe the Dallas offense statistically was better overall with Rush in at qb and they won more games.

I hate the 40. I care much more about shuttles and cones.
-
I think the ras stuff was mostly pre fitterer and Morgan. They prefer older "raw" prospects, not ras as much. Rhule definitely loved ras and to be fair i prefer a true completed ras over "old and raw" if I was forced to pick one or the other.
-
His ras was only high because he didn't do any agility drills. No shuttles or cones. It's literally based on height, weight, and 40. It wouldn't have been nearly as high with agility numbers.
-
He's not going to run in the 4.4s. From what I've seen I'm not sure he will run in the 4.5s

I wasn't a fan of XL when we drafted him. The problem as far as if they're both good then trade one is im not sure either can look good paired up as the #1 and #2 wr. They don't compliment each other at all and have basically the same strengths and weaknesses albeit Tmac is a better prospect. A lot of my opinion is based on my preferences and wanting to prioritizing route running, short area quickness and body control, and watching us instead draft big guys who don't run shuttles or cones and have a fast 40 for literally years in a row.
-
That is only true if you're sure XL isn't going to get good and you're sure TMac will be good.
-
Everyone knows how you feel about Tmac. Not everyone is as high on him as you are. I definitely see some positive things but I have a lot of concerns as well.
-
Exactly. If we had taken Ladd last year then TMac would be alright, but the fact that we have taken big physical receivers without a lot of quickness or change of direction for like 3 years in a row hurts that. XL and a Tmac is a seriously flawed pair of receivers as far as how they fit together.

Impact Rookies in Playoffs (Beyond Round 1)
Tr3ach replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was going to forgive taking XL over Ladd if we took Franklin when he fell to the 4th but nope. -
And i imagine these metrics don't even factor in that we have very little talent so these guys were being forced more opportunities out of necessity.
-
But when Bryce throws for 220 yards in a game and is clearly one of the best players out there, you constantly quote his passing yards... you do realize that's what teams did to us every game right?
-
He's going to get paid somewhere and be offered a starting spot, he's gone.
-
I believe he had a lot of suppossd character concerns if I remember right. I also believe he was seen as more of a true linebacker coming out, maybe even an inside linebacker. Not so much an edge at the time.
