  1. I assume he will be activated but it's kind of weird Dan Morgan was asked about it in his presser a few minutes ago and he said that Canales will answer that in the after practice presser this afternoon.
  2. It used to be that way but now days what team is a regular true super bowl contender year in and out that doesn't have a top 10 qb? You could say Minn i guess but that's just this year.
  3. It's only a penalty if he's first to touch it. If he stays on the field the defender is going to stick with him regardless instead of going to help defend someone else and also he can block if a pass is made.
  4. I'm not sold on him as a #1 pick yet and he's had an easy schedule but if he looks good the rest of the season and shows out in the playoffs then there's no way that he's not a major conversation for #1. It's just going to be hard for me to justify it until he goes against some really good competition
  5. I appreciate your in depth look at it but I think there is a lot of stuff you bring up that he brings on himself. He drops too deep to try to see over the line which creates a lot more pressure on the line. He also has no feel for the pocket and pretty regularly bails on a clean pocket or shifts in a direction that puts more pressure on the line. #1 though no matter how many excuses we want to make for him, he has to stand on his tiptoes to see over nfl lines which makes his throws entirely have to come from his arm and when you factor that's the only place his throwing power can come from with that issue, he's never going to have an arm that's nfl capable. It's as simple as that.
  6. All that said, qb in the NFL is a very hard job. Some guys who were good in college just won't make it in the NFL no matter how much "development" you put in to them. I don't think there will ever be a time in the NFL where 32 teams have a really good qb. If you can't find 32 really good ones in the world then there is a really good chance that a lot of qbs coming from college just won't pan out.
  7. I feel like Bryce has had very few games where he's hit 191 yards passing, and when he did they came in garbage time.
  8. My biggest concern with Legette being able to run a full route tree is his change of direction and quickness. He's very fast running in a straight line once he gets going, but he's not going to get separation on lot of routes that rely on anything besides the straight line speed.
  9. I think there are definitely traits for a #1, and we never draft wr based on it. That is being quick, with good change of direction that can run all of the route tree. We never seem to look at route running ability when scouting receiver at all.
  10. The problems with all those receivers you mentioned is which one do you see having a true #1 skill set? XL is a specialized receiver and obviously can't run a decent bit of the route tree to create separation. I'm a huge Coker fan but I don't see him being a true #1 either but he seems even more promising to me than XL on the field.
  11. Also his ridiculously deep drop back and running in to pressure when he has a clean pocket.
  12. Besides Coker, these guys haven't looked like game changers or anything yet. They have had some flashes and some terrible plays. On teams that had talent on their roster these guys wouldn't be playing but we are forced to rely on them. I'm not sold on any of them being good players. Hopefully they will be, but I've not seen it yet.
  13. A lot of sources had Coker ranked as one of the top available udfa. I wouldn't say it was a complete out of the blue choice for Morgan to make.
  14. His best pick so far was an undrafted receiver. The rest have shown flashes here and there but have looked really bad at times too. They wouldn't be getting playing time on most teams. We have to force opportunities to them over and over because the roster is devoid of much talent overall.
  15. The timing of this post makes me think you are mad about today's trade. I'm totally fine with today's trade. My concern with him is he has no idea how to draft, which imo is the most important role of a gm. You can have a cap guy to deal with contracts (as we do). Just freaking draft good players.
  16. I would trade Bryce for him in a heartbeat.
  17. Yea this box has nothing to do with the Panthers. Just people trying to stir up more drama I'd guess.
  18. Good start, it's not sustainable if they continue to set every pass play to be from los to 5 or 6 yards deep. It will work for a little bit but then will get blown up.
  19. I don't think he was a redshift but he is a sr. He's only 22 and didn't play any his freshman year. He has 3 years of stats and has improved each season.
  20. They have contributed but I wouldn't say any of them have looked especially good or like difference makers. So far they look like if they were on a team that didn't have the least talent in the NFL they wouldn't have seen the field yet.
  21. Morgan ruined any grace i was giving at the draft. This draft felt exactly like a Fitterer draft and I was no longer willing to give him a pass for all the awful moves while he was Fitts right hand man. He may be qualified for the job but that doesn't mean he's good at it. His eye for talent doesn't seem very good and he's drafting specialized players that mostly fit in old schemes that don't work anymore. I'm more done on Morgan than anyone. Canales I think should get more time. Even though the train wreck that we call our "defense" would be awful no matter who the coach was, I'm also done with Evero. It's not his fault they're terrible, I just hate his soft scheme and play calling.
  22. I think that's incorrect for the most part. You build your foundation through the draft and then fill in the rest around them once you have a solid enough foundation.
  23. Exactly. I loved him when he was here but his main strengths were big arm and mobility for his size and able to take hits. I'm not saying he didn't have other strengths but those were his biggest ones. Those are the main two things that made him special and the first two things that start to go with age.
  24. They've got to learn to draft before they will ever be able to get out of this awful "rebuild" stage. Until then it's just a snake eating it's tail.
  25. Yea that 2nd int was entirely on him. Dalton trusted him in a 1v1 match up and threw it pretty much blindly and Johnson totally quit on the route. #1 receivers don't do that.
