I think the key difference is that Jones did actually end up learning it, or at least enough of it to win the job.

8 Saints test positive for Covid (coaches and player)
CanePantherHornet replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
Any time something like this happens and it should work extremely in our favor, we end up getting destroyed. -
Can't believe more people aren't talking about that jet plane celebration by Robby.

Baker's thing has always been that he'll rain hellfire if he has a clean pocket but is terrible if he's under pressure.

Post Jets Game - Biggest areas of concern

Offensive line, Joe Brady. -
Too much CMC, bad coaching, will take the W.

Darnold should not have thrown the ball to him even though he was open. -
Shaq, CMC, Burns, Brown, Snow.

He is 100% the problem right now. We have elite level positional players. Darnold was good and stood strong in the pocket even when there was pressure on him. The defense was outstanding until they got gassed. Joe Brady has not delivered at all.

I would rather watch a game like last nights than I would a 10-7 slugfest. For all of the hoopla, strong defense and ball control is what ends up winning the championship most of the time anyways.

It's really sad seeing Superman reduced to this. This is some Luke Skywalker/Last Jedi poo.

I'm glad Donte got it. In all the videos we've seen he's been really active in leadership.

Cowboys at Bucs - NFL opener GameDay thread
CanePantherHornet replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the Cowboys beat the reigning super bowl champions in primetime on opening night, the media and fans are going to reach levels of obnoxiousness we haven't seen in half a decade or more. -
Your reaction when Sam Darnold is not named a Captain...
CanePantherHornet replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
Captain patches in the NFL are a sham anyways. We've had multiple players talk about how the coaches would stuff the voting box for guys they wanted to get the C. Pat McAfee has said that the entire thing is bs and there are a couple of REAL captains that usually act as a bridge between the coach and the rest of the team. What I really want to know is who has that spot now that D-Will, Olsen, and TD are gone. I wish they'd just do it like the NHL does and give one guy the C and have it be the actual team leader. -
We've lost another beat reporter
CanePantherHornet replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, when is the last journalistic story we've got? Something that gave us insights into things we didn't already know about. I don't care about journalism that is nothing but game recaps, stats, and press conference quotes that we all knew about a day before. -
We've lost another beat reporter

No offense or anything to her but I'm not sad to see her go. She was a massive downgrade from Rodrigue. -
Big Show and the fuged up guitar was the only thing I didn't like.

That is the most fun I have had watching wrestling since like Money in the Bank 2011. Tony Khan gets it. That swerve was great. I might actually get to see WWE die in my lifetime and that excites me.

We have heard out of Cam's own mouth that he has trouble learning playbooks. But yes, its just racism.

Brian Burns was asked how Rhule differs from Rivera. Burns laughed and said that Rivera really understood what he was going through as a player and connected with him more on a personal level, while Rhule was more strategic and analytical. It was on Aquib Talib's podcast. KeepPounding.tv claims that players have contacted him and said negative things about how Rhule interacts with players. This is supposedly what led to Denzel Perryman getting traded. In the camp confidential videos he seems extremely impersonal, like he's a race horse owner talking about what he needs to do with them better. The team meeting footage felt really weird to me too; half of the guys were obviously not paying attention while with Rivera they seemed laser focused.
-
I think Rhule has done a good job so far. People forget just how bad we were supposed to be last season. It was a huge surprise that we were competitive. We've known that this is a rebuild and it is going to take years, so it is just unrealistic to expect legit super bowl contention at this point. He has always said that his main focus is on developing and teaching, and that has obviously happened in spades since he's been here. There are some problems though. We've heard rumors about him not really connecting with the players on a personal level, and we've seen video proof of that in some of the camp confidential videos. That's something the players won't care about if we start winning though.

Panthers waiver claims and practice squad signings
CanePantherHornet replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bengal's line is probably worse than ours so I don't see how this can be a good thing. -
Do you not remember them acting like arrogant little shits saying they stole an MVP QB from us? They only started hating him around the middle of the season.
-
Patriots fans are saying that Mac Jones outplayed him in camp and they were only surprised because they figured Cam would start a few games before they eased Mac into being the starter.

I went to college with Zane Gonzalez. I wanted us to pick him up whatever year he was drafted.
