There is a reason he fell like he did. There is a reason the 49ers didn't even have him in their conversation. I swear most of the people who were crying about him just saw some mock drafts from early in the year and assumed nothing can change. At one point I can remember Geno Smith and Christian Hackenberg being mocked as #1 overall picks; when more games are played and more film is available some people fall. I'm not saying Fields has no chance of turning out well, but he was by far my least favorite of the big 5.

At this point, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. It is quite obvious they had a plan and executed it and that was all I was worried about after Thursday. If these guys developed like our picks did last year we are going to be drastically improved.

At the draft presser last week someone asked Fitt if arm length matters in tackles and he sort of just laughed and said "yeah I guess".

I'm pretty sure his reaction of pure relief was the same as all of us when literally any OT would have been taken.

With all of the OL talent still available, it is plausible for them to take it in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds. There is no way that a safety or defensive tackle can help this team more than one of those lineman can.

People forget just how shitty this team was when Rhule inherited it. Tepper told us from the start this was going to take years. The best we can hope for at this point is to see growth and be competitive like last year.

Fields was always a smokescreen. You don't trade that much for a guy and start running a marketing campaign with him for him not to be the guy.

With all of the draft capitol they spent on Sam Darnold they HAVE to upgrade the line. I do not want to be sitting here next year angry that we traded away our high 2nd round pick for a dude who was running for his life all year.

By my estimation we're missing a tackle, guard, center, free safety, 3rd wideout, and defensive tackle and possibly a quarterback. Easily filled!

If they don't take offensive line Joe Brady should be allowed to slap the poo out of someone for actively sabotaging him.
