He can't make NFL level throws. He can't force the ball into coverage when he needs to. He can't drive the ball to the opposite boundary. Corners will drive on those passes from him and will be lots of picks. All of his deep balls over 45 yds in the air the reciever had to stop or slow down. This will lead to tackles or passes defensed. The guy is exactly like Teddy skill wise. He excels in 1/3 field throws in the 10 to 20 yd range. Take that away from him as a DC and he's done.

Matt Ryan has a bigger arm and did it at Boston College not Alabama. Come on man.

Lol there are 257 d1 schools between both subdivisions that equals a total of 27,000 total scholarship and non scholarship players. Each team is allowed a maximum of 105 players that means only 20 walkons on fbs teams. 85 grants FCS schools get 63 grants but can split them up to 85 guys. 20 walkons. D2 is more like NC Central. They get 36 total grants. The main difference between FBS schools and top FCS schools is the twos and skill players. Especially the kicking game. There's not tons of difference in the 1s for the most part. -

The guy has a reputation to be a perfectionist and looks for every edge off the field he can find. I like him. -

You go by your fng eyeballs. A great pass can be dropped but that doesn't show on stats. A bad pass can be caught. A pick can be dropped. Football isn't a math problem. This isn't poker but a bunch of STEM nerds are trying to make it out to be. -

He sucks and would be up there with Jason Peters Brian St Pierre Pickles Weinke and Everett Brown As one of the worst picks in Panthers history. Mac Jones is a joke. -
Anyway i'm at an actual football game now so I need to focus.

You're entitled to your opinion. Prime Jake before the injuries took their toll is the best we've seen. Just like I'll tell you Bo Jackson is the best RB to ever play. I don't care that he was cut down early due to the hip.
-
You're entitled to your opinion. I'll take the 03 team over the 15 team. Everyone healthy and Jake wins 7 out of 10 heads up.

Cam couldn't throw. He really couldn't. The reason we went and got Benjamin and Funchess is because he was constantly air mailing guys especially deep outs. He was just a bad passer especially in clutch plays. He constantly came up short at the end of games when he had to have a completion. Great football player. Great running threat. Slightly above average passer. He did have a cannon.
-
I've got them 1.Jake 2aCam 2b Steve I'm sorry but Jake while he was healthy was magical. Made more big plays with his arm than the other guys. (I don't rank QBs based on longevity or running abilities.)

I mean Stevie B was the top passer in the league one year for us. Wasn't it over 4k yds?
-
So you don't think with capable coaching, weapons and system he can turn into at least Steve Beuerlein?
-
I can give you lots of reasons. His receivers are wide ass open. Great offensive architecture at Alabama provides great route concepts. Alabama has the luxury of calling plays that fit his strength. Stats wise like teddy he had tons of completions at the line of scrimmage or behind. Like Teddy he got lots of yac. God I'll post a video for you hold on. You watch. Especially the checkdown. The over is NFL open 46 is beat but he checked down like Teddy.
