Lamar Lathon was the most dominant pass rusher the Panthers have ever had. I don't care that his knees were shot by the time he got here. If he didn't sack the QB he absolutely would knock the schit out of him more times than not. He would deliver violence on our enemies that few ever did in the Black and Blue. Just ask Michael Irvins Collar Bone. I don't think I have ever seen Burns knock the schit out of anyone yet.

No I'm serious. The guy needs to start converting.

I don't consider anyone a good pass rusher unless they have 11 sacks in a season. I consider 14 plus a season to be elite. And when I say same level as CJ I'm including CJs ability to be a 3 down player. CJ was vastly superior vs the run. Look I know you're a homer but the reality is Burns hasn't been much bett than Shacq and DJ. He definitely doesn't deserve the adoration yet this board has been showing him. He might as well be Mike Fox.
-
The only guy on that list he's in the same league as is probably CJ Maybe Rucker. But he's nowhere close to the other guys yet as far as producing or instilling fear in the other QB.

All time doesn't mean career totals. If that were the case Bo Jackson wouldn't be one of the best backs to ever play. Don't confuse average mediocre play combined with a long career for a high number with greatness. He is not productive period. Panthers pass rushers I'd play in front of Burns in order Lamar Lathon Kevin Greene Julius Peppers Greg Hardy Mike Rucker Maybe Charles Johnson Then probably Burns.
-
It's true. The guy has been no better than Charles Johnson so far and way worse against the run when compared to CJ.
-
Burns hasn't done anything yet and has vastly underperformed. I don't know why you guys are so in love with him. He's way down the list as far as Panther's all time pass rushers much less the NFLs. If he doesn't have a minimum of 12 sacks this year we should seriously evaluate what we want to do with him. He's still a liability against the run.
-
Sweat might be the more complete player tho. And with Young opposite of him his numbers should go up.
-
How old is Myles Garrett? And Chase Young is definitely better. Burns really needs to step up. 10 sacks a season should be his floor and we should expect 14 to 16 a year out of him. He needs to start converting these pressures. He definitely missed several tackles on QBs last year.

Sam Darnold comes in at No. 19 in Chris Simms' Quarterback rankings

Are you a Panthers bot? -
You really can't blame a kicker for missing anything over 55yds much less anything over 60. The offense needs to get closer at that point.

Such a frightening moment for a parent. I've been through some of them myself a few times. You just feel helpless and want to trade places with your baby.

The original USFL had tons of stud players. That was a great league. I remember getting to meet one of my all time favorite running backs Larry Csonka at Memorial Stadium. Charlotte was up for a potential expansion team. I think I was 10 or 12. It was a great time watching that exhibition game.

Bring back Bill!!!!

I'm not railing on him he's still my 3rd favorite rusher. I'm just saying he could've been the greatest to ever live.
-
With his physical gifts he should have made us forget Deacon Jones and Bruce Smith were ever born. Peppers also didn't have a mean streak. He could have been so much more.
-
Yes you want your 5's ideally to be 275 plus and run 4.68 or less with a 5yd split of .5 to .6 seconds. Although Peppers underperformed imo.
-
The point is they are both liabilities against the run and also aren't dominant pass rushers. I like Burns he's ok but he has a long way to go to be a Lamar Lathon or Kevin Greene. Salt n Pepper was dominant and that should be the expectation of our pass rush.
-
They are both way too small. I'd rather have Chase Young and Myles Garrett.
-
I'll settle for 335 touches. Sweetness averaged about that probably. I want him maximized.
-
Over the past 3 years we have been pretty bad especially on defense. If we are getting off the field on 3rd. If we are creating turnovers it will lead to more possessions. If we become more dominant on offense then we will punt and kick less which again leads to more total plays.
-
They don't? 25 plus 8 is 33 20 plus 14 is 34 18 plus 15 is 33. Seems to add up fine.
-
20 runs and 14 passing targets a game are well within reason. Or 25 runs and 8 targets. 33 to 44 touches. I don't want my best back in history only running the ball 12 to 15 times a game. That's literally throwing points away.
-
I want 20 to 25 runs and 10 to 14 receptions a game. The standard for a dominant back over the history of the game is 25 runs at 4.0 per equals 100 yds. He is only the 2nd player we have ever had that can score on any play he touches the ball. Steve was the other. A weapon can't help you if it isn't used. He could get hurt getting out of the bed or hit by a drunk driver. The only times I want him shut down are blowouts and when we are eliminated from postseason play.
