yeah but the difference is Cam was signed two days previously. PJ has been in this offense for two full years and knows the entire playbook and we can't can't trust our starting qb to throw for more than 10 yards on 29 passes? time for Cam to take the reigns I'm sure it'll be 70% cam 30% pj or something like that as ease cam in

ultimately we're going to have to hope that a lot of QB's go down with serious injuries in the offseason or early into next year and are willing to pay for darnold darnold is bad but he's got one more team in him before he's booted from the league

they'll either trade henderson or bouye in the offseason or let Gilmore walk in my opinion but I think we lose 1 cb total, they see the value of having a stacked defensive backfield trade darnold and a pick (anything but a 1st) to get enough cap to keep reddick

He was forced into short throws due to his inability to make accurate reads and good decisions. 3-14 for 33 yards against the giants. 22-29 against the cards which is great, and I don't have the stats here to support, but I bet 90%+ of those were short dumpoffs and RB screens. People want PJ to play because of his knowledge of the playbook, but if he knows it so well and yet our offense is limited when he's in, then whats the point? play cam

the backup qb is always the most popular player on any nfl team I think people on the board have their minds cloudy from how much they hate darnold. PJ is not good, he's serviceable and that's it. Thank god we got 2 short fields and a short yardage package with Cam because our offense was entirely vanilla with no aggressive play calls out of fear he wouldn't be able to do it. I mean hell, McCaffrey had 10+ catches, that tells you the game plan and how little the coaches trust PJ to execute

we can't let the fact that we made a bad decision impact our future decisions. the reality is now even if we trade sam + a second rounder in order to get cap room for reddick then that is the equivalent of trading reddick for a 2nd rounder which we all would do in a heart beat it is what it is, but trade the man and anything but a 1st to keep gilmore/djax and reddick

I get your point but we also have a better team than the philadelphia eagles, the minnesota vikings, and the new york giants. unfortunately we lost all three of those games despite being the better team. had we won, we would have the best record in the nfl

I would say now we're headed in the right direction but do you think anyone would have been thrilled if we had lost to arizona and not gotten cam? we would end up 7-10 probably. I didn't say he would be fired but yeah two losing seasons and wasting a top tier defense and completely whiffing at the QB position 2 times is good enough to warrant a hot seat after two years I believe, especially when you're making that kind of money

a few in this thread have said they have a good defense, that is false. Their defense is trash -26th in opponent yards per play given up at 5.9 yard per play! holy jesus that's bad -they have given up 22 passing touchdowns which is good for 2nd worst in the league behind the colts (23) and for perspective we've given up 13 and the bills have given up 6 -27th in yards given up - they do rank 5th in rushing defense but that might be skewed to people throwing all over them - obviously they are on their backup qb who is sporatic at best and is our backup from the past who's shown no ability to be consistently good - Their 2 best defensive players are out for the game (Montez Sweat with a broken Jaw, and Chase Young with a torn ACL) - They are 1-3 on the road this year and the only win is Atlanta where they miraculously scored to win it with 33 seconds left, not to mention Atlanta is terrible. - they rank 28th in scoring defense, giving up 27.3 points per game (we're 6th at 19.3) - they are Dead last in the league in defensive 3rd down % at 55%, they are also 28th in defensive 4th down % at 71% (we are 33 and 31 respectively) - They give out 2.7 pts per drive (31st), we give up 1.58 points per drive (3rd) yada yada yada, they have a really bad defense, a decent running back, a good WR who should be covered by Gilmore/D Jax with no issues, and a below average qb and they are terrible on the road

I think we're giving him too much credit. He's not doing it to admit he's wrong, he's doing it to keep his job. I know Tepper committed a ton of money to Rhule but another losing season, especially with a top 3 defense in the NFL? If we had rolled with PJ and Darnold and Rhule was somehow kept, then next season would have been the hottest of seats. Rhule is smart enough to know to get to the playoffs now and cool the seat a bit while not wasting potentially the best defense we've had in decades

Stafford openly comes out and says he doesn't want us because we're not contenders so he goes out to L.A. and to the Rams where all on the surface looks great. Then you realize they are 1-2 against teams with a winning record and their combined opponents record is 21-42-1 They are the definition of pretenders in my opinion and *when* we make the playoffs I hope we draw them in round 1 and give them the business (although knocking the cardinals out of the playoffs for the 3rd time in recent memory wouldn't be bad either) I know I am way ahead of myself on this one but after watching them last night I really am hoping it happens

all these trades, even if it is unrealistic I expect them to find a way to keep Gilmore, Reddick, D JAX, and Cam cut someone else if need be, trade darnold and some picks to make it happen, idc just make it happen fitterer

I grew up in Huntersville, Went to college at NC State in '09. Now I'm up in Akron area and want to move back but price to buy in Raleigh or even Huntersville area just seems absurd even considering the housing market and definitely wild compared to the suburbs where we own up here. Maybe in a few years i'll justify it and move down and then i'll be able to be a season ticket holder

Would have been a clean sweep of teams losing that we needed to lose this weekend had the Chargers taken care of the vikings and the broncos with the eagles. Was actually incredible seeing TB, ATL, NO, SF(probably losing tonight), and SEA lose. hopefully the vikings and eagles drop a few more just to be safe

I like PJ but he is not starting QB worthy, and I personally don't think he'll ever be. CMC had 10 Catches, nearly every pass was quick and decisive to make it as easy as possible for PJ and it seemed very vanilla, the rushing game really led the way. I would love to believe we can see that on a regular basis but the sooner cam is up to speed the better I believe

I think cam will start for dramatic effect but I think it'll be a 2 QB system. I KNOW cam is better than pj and I believe he will play well but throw cam out there without full knowledge of the playbook and he plays bad... Then what you pull him for PJ? Would be a nightmare scenario. I think we'll see both with cam getting like 70% burn
