  1. like beating Tampa in a meaningless game last season would have set this franchise back at least another 3 seasons
  2. Long term vision…. 20+ years and no back to back winning seasons
  3. We beat the Bucs- we win the division, get a 20th pick instead of 9, out of contention for the #1 pick, likely retain Wilks and a cut rate coaching staff and get embarrassed by Dallas in the playoffs. This off-season we’d be excited about signing a Jimmy G / Derek Carr kind of QB #vomit We take the L… we get the #9 pick, new coaching staff that turns out to be on paper quite possibly the best staff Tepper’s wallet can get, we trade draft capital and get the #1 pick, get aggressive in FA and suddenly things look optimistic after 5 years of dire Had we taken more L’s… we’d likely be sitting at 4 or 5, could have still gotten the #1 pick but it would likely not cost us DJ Moore Sometimes you have to think long term health of the franchise and had we racked up more pointless wins last year we wouldn’t be enjoying the position this team is finally in
  4. can’t fault a young man to get that signature, go to work and collect a decent six figure check to get his situation improved The numbers might move a little, but this provides a solid framework to work from for determining how much each pick will make from 2023 to 2026. The first pick of the fifth round will sign a contract worth approximately $4.224 million and receive a signing bonus of approximately $384,680
  5. He needs to win back the fan base. He’s done some boneheaded things of past years
  6. Then we should all have chubs right now STEPH CURRY IN GAME 7 50 PTS 8 REB 6 AST W unreal performance today
  7. My biggest concern heading into this year is the LB group, we're just thin there and even when healthy it doesn't appear to be a very good unit overall. My second concern is TE. Hurst is good but he has injury baggage and behind him is still the woeful Ian Thomas
  8. Especially when you had one of the BEST ILB prospects in the country sitting there!!!! A position we are not very deep in
  9. sorry you are right.... GMs always get first round talent with first round grades, no teams ever do boneheaded things and miss on players "The most impressive performance from a former Tiger, surprising no one, came from Trenton Simpson. The Charlotte native put up 25 reps at 225 pounds on the bench, measured in at a strong 6-foot-2 235 pounds, but his best moment came in the 40. Simpson wowed the crowd with a 4.43 40-yard dash, with a 1.55 10-yard split. His time trailed only Auburn’ Owen Pappoe’s 4.39. The stellar showing at the combine earned Trenton Simpson a 6.24 prospect grade per NFL.com (8.0 represents a “perfect prospect”). The 6.24 grade places Simpson as the second-best linebacker prospect in this class, behind just Arkansas’ Drew Sanders" https://www.si.com/college/clemson/football/trenton-simpson-shines-at-nfl-combine I am not a Clemson homer, but the numbers do not lie. This young man is going to shine in the NFL and being around the $100 million dollar man in Roquan Smith will help him take it to the next level. This team needed strong LB play and we just drafted a guy who played 3 different positions in 6 years who was likely headed to being undrafted
  10. Why get a 21 year old OLB who absolutely CRUSHED the combine with measurables like a 4.43 40 when you can get a 31 year old college graduate who posted 6 sacks in 6 seasons
  11. Multiple outlets had him as an end of 1st round grade. You don’t need to trade up for a 25 year old rookie, he’ll be too old to even warrant a second contract
  12. A first round grade LB in Simpson is on the board and you trade UP to get a 25 year old LB
  13. I remember when we drafted Thomas Davis to slow Vick down
