Nope, I loved Mahomes - was desperate for the Panthers to Draft him. I'd have been unhappy with Allen though, so your point stands.

I'm afraid not as they're unfounded opinions. Appreciate the reply though, we'll just have to agree to disagree on Carr's abilities.

The goofiest cornball coach in the NFL?

The only two teams I hate are the Broncos and the Patriots. I can't bring myself to dislike the Cards, they're just irrelevant to us in the grand scheme of things. -
Why is a four time Pro Bowler deemed a bum?
-
I'm ok with standing pat and taking a player that falls to #9. I don't think any QB in this Draft RIGHT NOW is worth trading multiple first round picks for.

The Athletic names the top coaching hires for this cycle

Oh man, the shade thrown at Joe Brady here is brutal. -
A Top 10 pick has to be a sure thing in my book. None of these QBs are sure things, but you risk it for Stroud if he falls (he won't). Young is the best QB in this Draft, but he's literally smaller than Murray. Levis I don't get the hype about at all and Richardson needs to sit at least a year.
-
Sign Carr, take the BPA at #9 (or trade down) and hope that Richardson is there at #39 so you can groom him for 2 years. We need to come out of this Draft with another receiving threat to compliment Moore / Marshall and another pass rushing threat - I assume we're going to a 3-4.

Carr has multiple suitors - there's no way he's going to agree to that.
-
Yes, he had the OC title. He didn't call the plays - that was Mark Richt.
-
The point is - we're talking about what a great staff Reich is assembling, yet he's hired an OC that has never called plays before. Like, not once in a 10 year coaching career. I'm well aware that Caldwell and Reich have been OCs before (I'm not sure whether Caldwell ever called his own offence) and of course Frazier was the interim-OC for the Colts when Reich was fired so there is experience on the staff - it's just an odd hire for me.
-
It pays well, thanks for asking.
-
As a Miami Hurricanes fan I can tell you that he didn't call a single play for the Canes. That was Mark Richt's offence. Does anyone research these guys at all?

An OC that has never called plays - bold strategy, Cotton.

Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?

What happened to the Huddle's 'no retreads' policy? -
Sweet, it suits both parties then.

A Statistical Analysis of Signing Carr vs. Trading for L. Jackson

The 49ers wouldn't have traded 3 first round picks for Lance if they had Carr. -

I think for me we went conservative with the Head Coach hire. I'm not sure why you'd start gambling now with a trade for Jackson (I doubt he becomes available) or a trade up when the safe bet it is to just sign Derek Carr - and keep him out of New Orleans in the process. -
I'm never willing to say 'never' when it comes to NFL teams, especially when they're hunting QBs. I'd be loathe to give up a haul though - just don't see the talent this year for that.
-
Oooh, or Panthers sign four-time Pro Bowler Derek Carr and use the #9 pick to increase the talent on the roster. Yes please.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's less highly thought of at Ohio St than Fields was, right? He was available at #9.
-
You aren't signing Carr then drafting a first round QB in 2023. He's 32 in March - he gives you 4 years of high level play to find your franchise QB. It's a no brainer if he's interested.

No.
