  1. Tyrique Stevenson CB/NB is a no from me. A consistent disappointment at Miami.
  2. Stroud is not Burrow (out of College at least) and it's a really unfair comparison for CJ. You're setting him up to fail if you think that he can produce anything like in the NFL. Burrow threw for 60 TDs his Senior year (that's 19 more than Stroud as a Junior). He was utterly ridiculous in College - and both were surrounded by 'first day' NFL talent at the skill positions.
  3. You're falling into the trap of pigeonholing Richardson as an athlete that doesn't know how to play QB. Pryor, Vick, Young and Jackson all won with their legs first, their arm second. Richardson is an inexperienced pocket passer that just happens to run a 4.4.
  4. The good pocket passers that were playing on the overwhelmingly more talented team 95% of the time?
  5. I'm not sure Nagy verbally blowing Saban needed another thread, but I'm not one to judge.
  6. I did the same with Mahomes - started off thinking "meh, he's just a big armed kid in a QB friendly system playing backyard football - that'll never fly in the NFL". Then the more you watched his tape, the more you saw he knew exactly what he was doing on those 'crazy' plays. I don't think Richardson is Mahomes btw - he's the best QB prospect I've ever seen - but I think he's a franchise QB (i.e. a top 5 QB in the NFL that you wouldn't trade for the world) if he pans out. A good deal of my projection for Richardson is based on the fact he's 20 years old, had a terrible supporting cast (both players and coaches) and has only 13 career starts btw. If he looked like this as a 23 year old in year 3 I'd be much less bullish on him.
  7. As I keep saying - Young is undoubtedly the best College QB of the three (partly down to his supporting cast and partly down to the opposition). The NFL Draft is about projection - who is going to be the best NFL QB, and not just in 2023? That's who you take.
  8. I will be banned if he goes somewhere else and shows out and Young dies on an innocuous play and Stroud hits a 'competent NFL starter' ceiling.
  9. We made the trade to get into the QB conversation - it's pretty clear now that only Levis has a shot of being there at #9 overall and that's a hard no from me. We've been repeatedly told that the difference between acquiring #1 and #3 was negligible in terms of Draft capital, so we pulled the trigger. With regards to Richardson sitting - honestly I think that's the last thing he needs. He has 13 career starts (and is THIS advanced with his pocket presence / movement, reads and anticipation) - the guy needs to play football. He's only going to learn through experience. You need to tweak his mechanics, but that's what the offseason and Training Camp is for.
  10. Eddy Piñeiro is 2 inches taller than Bryce Young. He's 185lbs, so they're a very similar weight too.
  11. Does anyone have a list of games I can watch where Stroud doesn't handle pressure well? I've watched quite a few of his games and never noticed anything glaring. Thanks in advance.
  12. He can't block for poo and he's soft. As a late round flier, sure, but nothing more. Also Brown didn't call plays in Miami.
  13. Richardson wouldn't pick #15. I assume Corral would want some of Young's signing bonus to give him #9. Same with Thompson and Stroud with #7.
  14. From the transition to a 3-4 system? Burns. From the DC himself? I'm hoping Chinn.
  15. At the end of the day many were worried that Matt Corral was too small - he's 2 inches taller and 20lbs heavier than Young.
  16. I'm also not sure why they've highlighted a play where Young's OLine gives him an age to complete a PA bomb down the field. How does that support their argument?
  17. If you prefer smart and careful then you must have hated the trade up to #1 overall.
  18. As long as it's going to very good NFL players, who cares? You only get in trouble if it's going to Draft busts or over-the-hill Free Agents.
  19. If the NFL was pure 7-on-7 I'd take Young as he's unlikely to get crushed by a 300lb man. Unfortunately it's not.
  20. He's not head and shoulders above anyone - he's going to be the smallest guy on your roster.
  21. Anthony fuging Richardson. Young and Levis are hard nos from me. Stroud would be ok, but it's not a HR swing.
  22. Where have you heard that? I think we traded up simply to get into the QB conversation... and the price for #1 wasn't much more than the price for #3, so we pulled the trigger.
  23. I worry about his arm strength at the next level - he's going to have to throw with a ton of anticipation. That said, the blueprint is there with Manning / Brady et al. He seems like a great bloke and he's clearly determined to make himself the best version of himself he can be, so we'll see.
  24. Genuinely, what is there to coach up with Stroud? His mechanics are picture perfect. Sure, you can help him with how he processes the game, but that also comes with experience.
  25. I think it's basically whether he wants it or not - which yes, will be determined by the interviews. You can see he already processes well and has excellent pocket presence for someone so inexperienced. If I'm making the pick he's the guy - but I'm not so it'll be Bryce Stroud.
