Official Lions at Panthers damn it's hot out GameDay thread

I'd cut Hubbard at this point - Blackshear is better and I'm sure we can find someone else when rosters are pared down. -

Really, really, really like that uniform combo - just switch the silver helmets for white / black and that should be our home uniform. -

A guaranteed roster spot for the defensive player that suplexes Bridgewater. -
They dump on Corral, but don't you dare question the Young pick.
-
Newton was a sensational College QB - that offence was predicated on the threat he posed with his legs. That doesn't make you more developed as a passer. But again, it's everyone's opinion.
-
Ah I see. Agree to disagree.
-
Out of interest, how was Newton more advanced in his development?
-
I mean there's a damn good chance we took the wrong QB - as I said at the time, Fitterer, Reich and co are toast if Young doesn't work out.
-
I was going to say, people are cherry picking certain throws if they think Young has looked good this pre-season. He's barely been able to move the ball. It's a long season, so we'll see what happens, but the jury is definitely out right now.

It was Al Wallace and the tough motherfuger played through it. It's an odd thing to criticise him for - hate his opinions all you want, but I guarantee everyone else on this board would have curled up in the foetal position with a ruptured spleen.
-
You're not burning a roster spot by carrying 3 QBs. It's literally the most important position in sports.
-
That's a bold statement.
-
No he didn't. He had Lance 6th in his rankings.
-
i.e. causal fans who don't live and breath the NFL and certainly won't have watched the Draft. They're fair observations - if he's going to succeed he'll have to break the mould.
-
Right there with you, Chris.
-
I'm surprised he's got Barno on the bubble - he's the only OLB that's shown a pulse this preseason. Not that our staff care about preseason.
-
Agree to disagree. You gave up the farm for a QB (in a weak QB Draft) and passed over exciting up-and-coming HCs for a retread. I expect this team to win out of the gate or those moves were the wrong ones.
-
Stroud was always a build-a-bear QB to me. He has all the athletic traits you look for and wonderful mechanics. It's all about whether he can transition to the next level - adjusting to NFL speeds / athletes and reading NFL defences. That's beyond my scouting skills from thousands of miles away, unfortunately.
-
He saw the cheap hit coming and protected himself - I guess it's preseason for the refs too.
-
I'm extremely worried - well as worried as I can be for a team that I'm struggling to support these days.
-
He played well last week on the whole, but I cut him for that TD alone.
-
His best projection is Brees-lite - which is why I hated the trade. He looks scared to let it rip - probably 'cos he's seen what NFL speed actually looks like in practice and he knows how mediocre his arm is.
