I can only assume that Johnson made it clear in / after his first interview that he wasn't interested in the job. If we're demanding that Young is our starter in 2024 then most established candidates will look elsewhere. Also I think people get way too tied up in good playcalling O/DCs being good HCs. It's an entirely different skillset.

I don't understand marketing companies. Kelce and Mahomes are literally everywhere - the marketing companies have made people hate them. The same thing happened with Rodgers and P. Manning. They've oversaturated the market.

It's a matter of how many Super Bowls will Mahomes win, rather than will he win another one. We're in the middle of another Patriots dynasty era - 6 straight AFC Championship games is absurd.

I can name a 10th overall pick who was given up on after his rookie season. He was also the most 'pro ready' QB in his Draft. -

It would be idiotic to run it back with a QB just cos you spent the #1 overall pick on him when a 35 year old QB who the NFL thinks is washed (5 teams in 5 years) blew his performances out of the water in his 1 start. -
I'm baffled by their process. They strong armed a great coach out the door (admittedly he's 72) and didn't have someone immediately lined up to take over. I was sure they'd tampered with someone.

This idea that our Plan B (when Young flames out) is 'gun to the head' "You must draft a QB in the first round of the 2025 Draft" is baffling. -
