  1. We don't actually know if / what they offered for Watson. They offered #8, a 5th and Teddy Bridgwater (to get his contract off our books) for Stafford - an established upper echelon NFL QB. Not trading the farm for the chance to draft a College player fits in with that valuation.
  2. Again, they've set themselves up so that they don't have to make that franchise crippling trade. If Fields (or Jones or Lance or hell even Wilson, who really knows?) falls to #8 and they have him rated significantly higher than Darnold then you take him.
  3. Again, we gave up the equivalent of our third round pick this year to acquire Darnold. In the grand scheme of things that's nothing. If one of the QBs they love unexpectedly falls to #8 I could understand them taking him. As with the rest of the off-season, they've positioned the team so that it has no glaring holes. Obviously multiple positions are easily upgradable, but you're not forced to draft a particular position.
  4. They've also already got an excellent QB on the roster that they can't move on from for two years. I'd love them to go QB.
  5. I mean how do you think these trades get done so quickly on Draft day(s)? Teams have already put feelers out and know what it'd take to move up. Patriots and Panthers are just doing their due diligence.
  6. Mental press conference: https://twitter.com/fbgchase/status/1386776458614431747?s=20
  7. Wait, who had better numbers last season?!
  8. Give me Slater in the first, Radunz in the second and call it a day. If the Oline Coach can't cobble together a good unit with those two plus what's already on the roster then he doesn't deserve to be in the NFL.
  9. You could literally watch it on NFL Game Pass. The All-22 too. I just doubt he's watched 20 hours of footage last week. I also doubt he knows what to look for.
  10. He's a one-season wonder so you'd hope so. I hope he falls past our second round pick (s) too.
  11. Some of you are laughing at the Winston situation in New Orleans. I'm sat here thinking "poo, that's a very talented QB teaming up with an offensive mastermind". They LOVE Hill for his versatility - and I'm sure he's a great teammate. I don't doubt that Winston is the starter though and will be a problem for us. The Tim Jenkins video on Darnold highlights this - so many times he's sat there saying "so this is the worst play call for this coverage". Coaching matters, folks. To me it's an incredibly shrewd move. Talent wise he's more than up there with the Huddle's 'big 4' (with the guy on the outside looking in on that group going #3 overall ). If it doesn't work out you've lost a high 3rd round pick this year. That's nothing. I'm impressed with Fitterer so far - he's filled holes in FA so he can pick the BPA in the Draft. That's how you should do things.
  12. We traded the equivalent of our 3rd round pick this year for Darnold. If you're desperate to physically get back those 2nd, 4th and 6th round picks you can EASILY do that by trading down a few spots in this Draft.
  13. I really wish there was another source of statistical analysis than PFF. They burned their credibility with me years ago.
  14. The stattos always think Draft picks are over valued. It is what it is.
  15. He was a hell of a College football player - always stood out when the Canes played him. I'm not sure how he projects to the next level though - I suspect he's going to get bullied, but who knows. That said if I was a 3-4 team I'd take him to play OLB in the third round.
  16. I'm super curious to see how much players are going to be punished for sitting out. We won't know until Thursday.
  17. It's absolutely this. Saban does not give one single fug about his players. He's here to win. If you're injured he'll just slot the next 5 star in off the conveyor belt and you've lost your starting role. I've no idea how they've kept the thing going (baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags) because besides winning a lot it sounds like a brutal experience that doesn't actually prepare you for the NFL at all. Most of their players are maxed out in college. Contrast this to the greatest College in your fair land and you have Calais Campbell going to bat for Greg Rousseau. A true brotherhood. But then it's a Canes thing, you wouldn't understand.
  18. No order. The only one I'm not sure about is Darrisaw - the talent is there, but I don't know how he's done in interviews. If you can motivate him he's the #1 OT on this list imo. - CONSENSUS BIG BOARD Ranking Position Player School 1. QB Trevor Lawrence Clemson 2. TE Kyle Pitts Florida 3. OT Penei Sewell Oregon 4. 19. Agree to disagree - he processes the game well. The mistakes come a) when pressured and b) when trying to play hero ball.
  20. Looking at his Drafts as the Redskins GM I'm not sure he was the genius behind the throne.
