  1. Sounds like the starting QB for the Uni team I played for here in the UK. He was dogshit, but he was going for a Doctorate and was on the team committee, so obviously he started every game.
  2. Is JT O'Sullivan paying you a commission?
  3. Who knows how good he'll be, but I'm more excited starting the season with Darnold as the QB than I was with Bridgewater or the broken down Newton.
  4. Really unique look into how a War Room works. I think our Comms Team is very good, but this stuff is exceptional. One takeaway I have - for the Colts GM Ballard is the first guy on the phone to the prospect. He's large and in charge. For the Panthers.... HC Rhule. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin...
  5. I think he'll earn a lot of playing time wiping out defenders in space on our zone plays - the most we'll notice him as a rookie is when he springs a long run. He has a ways to go as a receiver, but the potential is there. If he stays on the field as a blocker he'll earn some looks in the passing game. It'll be down to him and the TE Coach to turn him into something he's not just now.
  6. This post here is why when I read the "No excuses for Darnold now" posts I think: If we mold a cohesive unit out of that rag tag bunch I'll be impressed.
  7. Honey, don't get me started on the Canes not wearing black 'cleats'.
  8. Snuck in a subtle racism accusation too - masterfully done, really.
  9. Tepper didn't let Rhule just hire his mate, Peters. I doubt he's just going to let Fitterer hire his mate Morgan without an extensive search.
  10. I mean that's all been made by a sensational chef - so you know it was great.
  11. I didn't like Rosen coming out of UCLA at all - had spotty accuracy. The fact they chased him off after a single season suggests he's either awful in practice or an awful culture fit.
  12. And likewise you can tell some folks revere a guy that doesn't deserve to be spoken about in such hushed tones. To me unless you're in the HoF your jersey number is active. Hold that jersey number out of the rotation for 5 years - if they don't get in to the HoF then it's active again. Mills' jersey is retired for a different reason. A 'Panthers' legend i.e. a Ring of Honour entree doesn't merit their jersey being retired. That said, it doesn't matter now with the NFL allowing players to wear any damn number they want.
  13. He certainly defined the inconsistent decade we had...
  14. Someone needs to tell Sam to ditch the Jets green t-shirts.
  15. They also call the player before they draft them, so maybe someone from Marshall's camp tipped them off that the Saints had been on the phone.
  16. Is that a high school field somewhere in Charlotte? I don't recognise that logo - and I've no idea about NFL rules around using team facilities to do this stuff in the offseason.
  17. I know there's a whole cottage industry around the Draft, but I don't think you can sensibly analyse and predict what 32 Front Offices are going to do - especially when half of them are dysfunctional.
  18. Unless they've got Trask scheduled for an arm transplant I'm not too worried.
  19. Same with the BYU WR. Just saw an athletic footballer player and thought 'why not throw him a camp invite'. Which is a step up from Hurney seeing an athletic bloke and offering him a contract.
  20. I've said for years I hated that we just drafted choir boys.
  21. What were the 'character concerns'? Also I hope no potential Iowa recruit reads that piece - imagine the staff not going to bat for you. Good lord.
  22. Sadly those that were desperate to draft a QB at #8 are now putting unrealistic parameters on Darnold to justify themselves. "Must show he's a franchise QB within two games or we're the Jets!" It's tiresome.
  23. I was curious myself: Trade 1: Panthers received 52,83,204. Bears received 39 Teven Jenkins - OT (Ok St) + 151 Larry Bloom - OG (Miss) Trade 2: Panthers received 59 and 89. Browns received 52 Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah - LB (ND) and 113 (traded to Detroit - Derrick Barnes - LB (Pur)) Trade 3: Panthers received 70. Eagles received 73 Milton Williams - DT (LTech) and 191 Tarron Jackson - DE (CCar) Trade 4: Panthers received 109,158,2022 4th rounder. Texans received 89 Nico Collins - WR (Mich) Trade 5: Panthers received 126,166,232. Titans received 109 Dez Fitzpatrick - WR (Lou)
