Because Matt Rhule is here to win football games.

It's too early to write some of those players off, especially with COVID opt outs. That said I never have high hopes for a Hurney Draft. We'll know for sure this year.

Reasonable expectations for rookie performance

Everyone's a bust until proven otherwise. It's was just easier to get Hurney Drafts that way. -

I wobbled with the first bold, and you lost me with the second one. The WTFs finished with a 7-9 record. Rivera backing his way into the Playoffs is not to be commended - nor was it when he did it here. They've got some absolute ballers on that WTFs team - that Dline is nasty. That said, they're worse than us (as evidenced by us defeating them last season), but they played in a pathetic division. Unlike the murderer's row that we find ourselves in. -
Cam Newton.

That's a very, very high bar. I hope he clears it.

Balanced out when we cut Jansen.

I mean they've no idea yet. It's not like he's lined up across from Burns and been roasted. He's going through basic drills and undergoing the start of the offensive gameplan install. They'll know what they have in August. And I'd take an elite G any day of the week if that's what he turns into.

Do they have two first rounders to send us?

I've just stumbled across it on YouTube. I enjoyed it - it's a silly schedule release video. They had fun. Appreciated Darnold's drawing on the flipchart in the back of the room.

How athletic IS Deonte Brown? aka Corn Bread/Big Bread
OldhamA replied to blueandblackattack's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sorry, I think you missed the part where he went to Alabama. -
The only real annoyance I have with Tepper so far is that he sat back that first year. If I'd just spent $2bn on a football team I'd be coming in with a new team and ideas. I wouldn't be assessing what was already going on - we knew what was already going on wasn't working. Especially considering I was a minor owner of the Steelers for years so I had first hand knowledge of how things should be run.

It also just occurred to me that we, essentially, got Darnold for a 2nd round pick. The Bucs got Trask. Yiiiiikes.

You do of course realise he went to Alabama, right? This isn't some small school kid that's going to grow when he hits the NFL. He went to a (disgusting) football factory that maxes out it's players physically. Our best hope is that he trims down to 320-330lbs and regains some of that athleticism as he looked immobile in Mobile. -
I think his money position is C.
-
He only came on the last two years and even then he was a complimentary piece at best.
-
I mean it was a terrible pick.
-
Little chance of confusing the two when they're on the field though.
-
I'm surprised the rookies who are unsigned turned up.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2003/passing.htm Random year. The rules changes have distorted the game.

I remember when those were decent numbers for a starting NFL QB.

Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?

In a passing league, CBs are incredibly valuable. So are DEs (or pass rushing DTs). -
Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?

You're missing the key component of this - what if Darnold becomes a Pro Bowler too? -
I genuinely think they ditched Bridgewater so quickly because he wasn't taking the shots Brady was calling for him. Based on his LSU offence (admittedly he had two first round picks and a second round pick at WR and the #1 overall pick at QB), Brady can call an offence.
