  1. Do we know it was 11 on 11 / 7 on 7 and not just 1 on 1?
  2. Perryman was a 2 time first team All-ACC player. I don't think you quite appreciate how difficult it is for a Hurricane to win those honours in a conference run by the Tobacco Road Mafia. Injuries aside he's light years better than Carter. He's not the long term answer, but he's a massive upgrade from Carter and Whitehead.
  3. I was in 'high school' (College over here, but y'know semantics) at the time. When we hit X-Clown in double overtime I woke up everyone in the house - it was like 4am at that point.
  4. I personally consider third round picks to be rolls of the dice - well at least for a franchise like ours. The franchises that consistently win consistently hit on those old 'first day' picks. So, with my criteria of ruling out third round picks as potential busts, my top 5 (in no particular order): Dwayne Jarrett Bruce Nelson Rashard Anderson Rae Carruth Eric Shelton
  5. There's no need to pile on. We know he's not good enough, so do the coaching staff. If they have a warm body that can somewhat play OT he'll be cut before the season starts. I suspect we're waiting for other teams to cut someone.
  6. Why not build a good team and keep throwing darts at the board if we're still struggling for a QB in a year or two? I'd rather be one missing piece away than multiple.
  7. Yeah, those were both battery. Ibe's was a bang-bang football play.
  8. I really like Rhule but this and having players run laps for mistakes is very College football. I don't know how long that flies with NFL millionaires.
  9. We went to two Divisional playoffs (one Super Bowl) and were barely over .500 in nine years with this 'franchise changing' QB on our roster. Yes, it's a QB driven league, but as Aaron Rodgers shows (or hell Eli Manning if you want to go the other extreme), it takes 52 other talented guys pulling in the same direction.
  10. 3 WRs were taken in the Top 10 picks in 2021. 5 were taken in the first round in 2020. It's a premium position.
  11. So you reach for a player you're not sure about at another premium position just because?
  12. The one thing I didn't pick up on when I was a young Draft enthusiast was the importance of contested catches - my evaluations of WRs were way off. Now it's the #1 thing I look for in a WR prospect. Marshall has it in spades.
  13. In a pass happy league it absolutely is. The NFL has gone the way of College Football. You drop bags for QB, DT, OT, CB and WR. Everything else is secondary.
  14. I think we'll see a number of different starting combinations due to injury. I suspect they'll nail down their starting 5 before TC ends.
  15. Depends if it's within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. If it is he's just bullying the WR there.
  16. That's high praise. What I will say is that on tape I saw no discernible talent difference between the Top 10 WRs and Marshall. If he's over his injuries we've got an absolute superstar on our hands.
  17. DROY is just for chest bumping fans and contract negotiations. I just hope to god Horn is good.
  18. Exactly. Orlando Pace hasn't walked through that door so we're not entirely sure who's going to start at LT. It's 3 days into camp, like a proper coaching staff they're prodding and poking to see what they have in the OL room. They'll settle down into a starting 5 soon enough.
  19. I skimmed through the stream this morning - I'm glad I didn't watch it live. They barely showed any live action - PR misfire by the Panthers there and I generally think their Comms team is pretty good.
  20. The problem hasn't been spending first round picks on fantastic players like Morgan, Beason, Davis and Kuechly. The problem has been spending 2-7 round picks on trash that I don't have to list because we all know the names. We're a losing franchise because we've consistently drafted poorly, particularly after the first round pick.
