  1. That piece with him in Miami was pretty jarring though. And short.
  2. It reiterates what I thought after last year's Draft. This is Rhule's ship, the GM is just helping him pilot it.
  3. Apologies if this has been asked / answered. Who were Rhule's 4 guys at the Tremble pick? I could make out Brown (I assume Spencer), Browning and of course Tremble. I couldn't make out the 4th guy?
  4. Or that he realised he couldn't hack it in the NFL anymore. That's a form of closure too.
  5. I'm absolutely down for a open QB competition - with Darnold taking first team snaps until proven otherwise. If you think Walker is going to push him though I think you're in for a rude awakening.
  6. Serious Q, does Newton love you as much as you love him or is it unrequited?
  7. How so? You're comparing a starting QB relocating to a 22 year old college graduate moving to a new city for work. Said college graduate isn't occupying a job that only approx. 40 people on the planet are capable of doing at a high level. They're most likely making the coffee. It's apples and oranges.
  8. Right, but they're not being asked to be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
  9. By that metric only a handful of players in the league aren't busts.
  10. Just how bad is the American education system??
  11. I prefer Sammy D to 'The Ginger Cringer' that people are throwing around.
  12. If Darnold is good enough to earn a $100m+ contract with us anyone not rejoicing is miserable for the sake of being miserable.
  13. High: Sam Darnold. He's no less talented than any of the QBs we could have drafted at #8 and barely much older. He's a work in progress, but he was left out to dry in 2020 by the Jets - when Crowder is your #1 WR you're bold faced tanking. I'm not expecting Pro Bowl numbers in 2021, but I do expect him to silence a lot of doubters. R/U: Jeremy Chinn. Unsure: Brian Burns. An incredibly talented pass rusher, but also an incredibly fragile one. Perhaps he was drafted with an eye on moving to a 3-4 system as he has build more suited to playing OLB than DE. R/U: Donte Jackson. Low: Ian Thomas. Has yet to produce anything of note for the Panthers. The path was clear for him to seize the starting job in 2020 - instead the Panthers went out and signed a reasonably priced FA and spent a premium Draft pick on another TE this off-season. I'd be surprised if he survives TC. R/U: Shaq Thompson.
  14. I had no problem with him coming in - I was actually excited to bring in an accurate, efficient QB. He just couldn't take the next leap to being a good QB - he was terrible on shot plays and in the red zone. He seems like a really, really odd dude though.
  15. The best way I've seen it put is that it's the previous four - five generations of all-stars. So you thought you were hot poo in College, and maybe you were, but the NFL is the best players from the last four - five College recruiting cycles (a recruiting cycle being three years). It's brutal. There's no shame in not being good enough to hang.
  16. He's a big lad, isn't he? That's reassuring.
  17. I love that people think that now he's out of the 'pressure cooker' of the NY market he'll have more space to breathe. Half the fan base is ready to jump down his throat the first time he throws an INT because he's not the particular brand of 2021 rookie that they tied their colours to. He knows this is his make or break year if he wants to be a starting NFL QB.
  18. Well Shannon Sharpe just lost Julio Jones as a contact.
  19. Which one, Luke Kuechly or Steve Smith? I'll allow you Julius Peppers too, if you must.
  20. I'd bet my mortgage on McCaffrey playing last year if we were in Plyoff contention. They were just super cautious with him.
  21. As you see from the behind-the-scenes videos that teams put out, unless your inside source is the GM it doesn't matter. Loads of people in the War Room, but only one guy makes the decision.
  22. A ton of teams were mentally DONE by the time Bowl season came along. Teams opted out of Bowl games ffs. The ACC was good last year, as it is most years.
