Who was the best Carolina Panthers player today?

He had a standing start and Carrie was going flat out. Still took 30 yards to track him down. -

That LB corps is disgusting and not in a good way. -
Kevin Donnelly Said Rhule Was Livid at the Half

Bearing in mind Carter is a marginal NFL player, why wouldn't he start the veteran Whitehead? At the end of the day he benched him for his play - that's all you can ask for as a player who's behind a starter on the depth chart. Every job is legitimately up for grabs. -
He said that you can go to Ron and ask for advice because he 'played the game'. Rivera is a soft player's coach. Rhule is a hardass. I don't care if he likes Rivera more and neither does Rhule as long as he does his job.

Why would they waste time installing a silent count when they're literally still teaching these guys the basics? It's two thrown-together units. Silent counts and game planning is what you do when the real bullets start flying.

If Fisher makes the roster we're in trouble. He's not an NFL level athlete, unfortunately. The game isn't played in a phone booth anymore - he can't make up for his inability to go sideline-to-sideline with instincts / toughness / football IQ. NFL OCs would absolutely abuse him if he saw any action.
-
It's a slight overreaction based on one Pre-season game, but it's trending towards Rhule bringing in back-to-back stellar Draft classes. He clearly can evaluate talent. He's not 'churned the QB room' because there's nothing to churn. He took a look at Ramsey in the rookie Mini-Camps and quickly dismissed him. I feel like Colonel Jessop: "Who you gonna bring in? Smith? [retired] RG3? McCown? Bortles? Finley?" Right now we NEED Walker (and Grier) because there isn't better out there.
-
You're related to Walker, right?

You could tell me he ran a 4.7 at his pro day and I wouldn't care. He routinely gets behind NFL defences. He's fast as fug. -
I have to say… I liked what I saw out of Christensen

He's got a lot of Gross in him. Excellent feet, but not your prototypical dancing bear OT. Will have to learn to win ugly if he wants a starting job in the NFL. -
Here's a game note for you - those Carolina Blue jerseys should be our default.
-
He has starting OT feet / athleticism, but it's always going to have to win ugly with that wingspan. AQM beat him in the first Q quite easily (Walker got the ball off, but was rushed). We'll see where Erving is at, but I could see Christensen being inserted into the starting lineup at some point this year and not relinquishing the spot.

Evidently our 2s are better than theirs and their 3s are better than ours. Considering every single 3 will be employed doing something other than playing football by the time September rolls around I'm ok with that.

I love how you've managed to bring it back to a Darnold criticism. Dude didn't even play today, but there's no rest for the wicked.

Considering DJ Moore is a legit #1 WR that would be terrifying for the NFC South. -

He's a legit 4.4 guy - he's fast. Evidently the Colts have a few very fast DBs (if it wasn't the same guy that chased down Hubbard and Marshall, I'd have to check). -

I'd cut Walker tomorrow if we had any viable options. The two Colts backup QBs are way better than ours. -
Just watched the highlights - he definitely had a couple of "welcome to the NFL" moments today. On the spin move where he broke away for a long gainer that's a TD in the Big 12. Also he tried to hurdle someone later on and got body slammed. He'll learn - promising RB.
-
Ramsey didn't even make it past rookie Mini-Camp. He's worse than Grier.
-
McCaffrey replaced Samuel.
-
To unfairly interpret their looks: Moore: "Awww yeah, gonna enjoy playing with this stud for the next X years" Anderson: "Awww poo, this kid is going to take my job."
-
Wow, we have 90 guys on the roster and we're only dressing those 4 for today. Bold. Guess we'll see all that they've got - good luck Fisher fans.
-
Honestly Lance is going to look dogshit for a while - he's a huge project. His footwork and throwing mechanics regressed massively last year and he has almost no experience. Shannahan and co really risked their jobs on him - it's either a genius move, or one that sees them on the FOX pre-game show talking about other teams in a couple of years time.

Darnold is a gunslinger. They ditched Bridgewater so quickly because he WOULDN'T take the shots that were on offer. Like every HC (and OC) he wants a QB that isn't going to needlessly turn the ball over - hence why he's preaching limiting turnovers with Darnold. That said, he wants a QB that is willing to push the ball down the field when it's on offer.

Vick was the best athlete I've ever seen on an NFL field who just happened to handle the ball every snap in Atlanta. He wasn't a QB until Reid got his hands on him. Smith was consistently good with the Chiefs - he was inconsistent with the 49ers. Yes, everyone is a critic.
