I think this is why the partnership will work. It's Rhule's team and he's got the final say on talent, but Fitterer is an extra pair of eyes AND he's got the admin side of it down pat. Rhule is ruthless - as evidenced by Perryman, Little and Slye (dude was basically cut on tv last night). He needs a right hand man to help him navigate the Front Office world though and he has that now.

I wouldn't like to speculate, I'm not au fait with every NFL roster. I think Darnold could easily be in the teens this year as a starting QB. I do think our backup situation is horrendous though, so I'd rank our QB room in the bottom third of the NFL.

David Moore makes it easily. I don't know if Smith is going to have to go on IR.

I think we'll get a good indication of how close Rhule / Fitterer think we are to contending for the Playoffs in the next few days. If they think we're close they'll trade for a starting LB and a starting LG.

STEVE SMITH AND LUKE KUECHLY (channelling OP's energy). I'd just bring back the two best players to ever suit up for the team.

It can go one of two ways. Either we lean into it and say "this is what you expect from our commentary booth", or we don't invite Smith back again to commentate. He wasn't sitting on any fences out there - he'll have offended a lot of people. He will also have appealed to plenty.

He has a 7 year contract and walked into a dumpster fire. If we show improvement year on year, Rhule will stay. We were much better last year than we had any right to be. It looks like we hit on the Draft this year again, and our 2020 picks are a year older / wiser / stronger. We're trending in the right direction. Also Bridgewater was a mediocre starting NFL QB (that's walked into another starting job in the NFL) - people act like he couldn't throw a forward pass.

So we're talking the 2022 season then, cos he isn't playing this year. If he's cleared his value rockets back up to multiple first round picks - something we can't afford. If he's not cleared then he probably doesn't play professional football again. It's odd that we're in these discussions.

Why would the Panthers make more sense than the Dolphins? The Dolphins have more trade capital and they have a worse starting QB.

I watched the Steelers stream for a little bit - they had no clue who Burns was. Or anyone on our roster really. The disrespect was real. They were blatantly reading nameplates on jerseys.

I haven't seen anything of Philly but I'm guessing they either don't like their backups or Hurt hasn't nailed down the starting job. I suspect Urban doesn't want legit competition for Lawrence. It's a very, very cheap deal though.

Wow, the Jags got fleeced. We got a 7th for Little. Minshew plays the most important position in the NFL and has proven he can start in this league.

He played LG in the second pre-season game. They've lined him up at RT, LT and LG so far.

That was literally Brady / Rhule saying to Ricci "this your shot, show us what you've got". I think they're desperate to give him the roster spot over Thomas, but he has to show he can play FB as well as TE / STs.

Elder was actually good last year. He was poor the prior years.

I'd need to go back and watch the game, but I'm 99% sure Paradis gave up two sacks and a TFL. Elflein and Erving were ok - they seem to come in for undue criticism because they're FAs I guess. I'd move Elflein to C and experiment with the G we have on the roster at LG / RG.
