Brown and Gross-Matos sack. This is really cool.
OldhamA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He had a TFL on that 4th down play and obviously shared a sack here. He's not Burns, but he's a very nice piece. -
But he didn't take that opportunity in the clip...

Yeah they've gone for the safe pair of hands back there - someone that's not going to muff the punt / will fair catch it when appropriate and can sneak 10 yards or so. He's not a dynamic returner at all, but I guess those are hard to find. Lord knows they've been looking for one!

Exactly. He had time to set himself and step into that throw and it's still a 45 yard rainbow. Darnold's was a 50 yard, off platform, throw that was all arm. Bridgewater can't make that throw - he also wouldn't - you saw how hesitant he was to throw it with Anderson WIDE open. He had to gather himself and put everything he had into it. For reference:

He lost his role to Hartsfield, basically.

Oh boy they sure look sick of him and his coddling:

Why the fug would you go away from a guy that's picking up 7+ yards everytime he touches the ball?!
-
Yeah, I don't consider that ripped.

Toxic Teddy ran the offence the way Brady and Rhule want it to be run - attacking teams horizontally with quick passes to keep the chains moving and providing receivers with YAC opportunities. One of two reasons why Bridgewater is no longer here is because he refused to hit the deep shots. He can't make that throw Darnold made to Anderson - that was all arm. Much like the Saints O with Brees, the plan is to consistently hit the short completions then, if you overcompensate to defend that, hit you with the shot play. It's absolutely by design - we'll experience lots of Bridgewater deja vu this year - except Darnold will hit those chunk plays.

....ripped?
-
You're going to have to explain that one, chief.
-
Put it this way - you can tell which of our Co-ordinators has been coaching for 40 years and which one has been coaching for 4 years....
-
So he coached Brown, YGM.... ah, y'know what, never-fuging-mind.
-
Roethlisberger, yes. Manning - not that I'm aware of.
-
Slye was basically missing the net by the end of his time here. He had to go. Shows that it's all mental though if he's turned it around that quickly.

In the replies "we must protect him". Dude's a rapist piece of scum. fug that.

Fans notice the OL that give up splash plays. You just want consistently from OLmen.
-
If you've got a weak group of iOL the last thing you want to do is to stack the box.
-
Most coaches preach discipline / reducing penalties / not beating yourselves. The big difference between Rivera and Rhule is that Rhule is building a roster at the moment. Rivera never managed that.
-
Neither could DeSean Jackson.
-
You're joking, right?
-
Thomas has to be able to make that block or he shouldn't be on the team.
-
Yes.

The Oline performed about how I expected them to. All of the hand wringers didn't seem to take into account that this O is designed to get the ball out quickly (partly by necessity).
