  1. That's not how it works. If you're drafting high enough to spend a pick on a premium position, i.e. QB, then by definition the rest of your team needs a lot of help.
  2. I think it's way too early to say that - but it does reaffirm why I wasn't super high on any of them coming into the Draft.
  3. I'd love to see him behind a bad Oline. I don't think he's as good as the hype right now. He often has all day to throw.
  4. He should have retired when he threatened to do so.
  5. Sorry but Goldberg threw the best Spears. Mainly because he literally just tackled blokes - he was stiff as hell.
  6. Don't tell the offseason haters that. If he's not playing at an MVP level in week 10 then it's all a mirage.
  7. I've been pleasantly surprised by his accuracy so far - even on some of the splash plays he made for the Jets he was sometimes a little behind the WR. That throw to Erikson on Thursday night tho...
  8. Darnold comes across as ridiculously coachable - he's picking up everything the staff is telling him. Footwork is massively improved, decision making is improved (they've stopped him playing hero ball). It's great to see.
  9. I don't recommend Canes that aren't up to standard.
  10. If you look up Game Manager in the dictionary there's a picture of Baker Mayfield next to it.
  11. Miller is crap, Daley is a stop gap. Paradis is bad. Move Elflein to C, give Brown first team reps this week at RG and fug it, see what Jordan or Christensen can do at LG.
  12. As I keep on telling people, Paradis is a fuging problem.
  13. If I scrolled back far enough on 'Billy M's twitter feed would I find tweets where he questioned the trade for Darnold and thought he'd never amount to anything? Cos those two tweets basically amount to "poo I thought he'd be crap, I need to credit everything else but Darnold to save face". I won't be scrolling back through his tweets tho as obviously he's a non-entity.
  14. I'd only use Darnold on those sneak plays. You don't really want him to be your primary short yardage option.
  15. My honest take on Brady is that he's a VERY young OC who's lucked into a sensational playbook on his travels (I assume from his time at the Saints) and is learning his craft. He's a very bright guy, but he's still trying to figure out how this whole playcalling malarkey works. He doesn't have an innate feel for it imo. Some of the play calls are just daft. I personally think he's mad applying for Head Coaching jobs. If he lucked into one it'd be the worst thing possible for his career - there's no way he'd be able to command a locker room.
  16. There was talk on the Hurricanes board about Brady as a potential HC next year. I nearly died laughing. He's not ready to run a college programme. He's even less equipped to run an NFL frnachise.
  17. I disagree that the whole team was in shock. The offensive game plan was thrown out the window when McCaffrey went down. It took halftime for Brady and co to regroup. I think the defence got tired at the end of the half and Snow went ultra conservative for some reason - which is baffling because he dialed back up the pressure / man coverage AFTER he lost his best CB.
  18. As much as I dislike to quote Colin Cowherd, he's right. This can't be a great team with this Oline. We can win the games we're meant to win and compete against the better teams in the league, but this Oline will hold us back. We all knew that coming into the season that, at best, the Oline would be serviceable. It's the next thing to fix in this rebuild project - I'm sure Rhule and Fitterer are very aware of that. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  19. If Darnold was asked to win shootouts with this offensive line then we'd be seeing an awful lot of Walker. It's a team effort. That's what Rhule is building here. These aren't your Hurney / Rivera Panthers relying on a handful of star players to drag you to wins.
  20. Pitts isn't a TE. He looks even less like a TE stood next to NFL athletes. He's a big WR.
  21. Ian Thomas is pretty much the one personnel decision that Rhule and co have made that I just don't understand at all. He offers so little (albeit he did throw a nice block on the Tremble TD run!) and hasn't even flashed during these three years.
