Tanking does not guarantee a good QB
OldhamA replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't want to talk - just go out there and continue to try and win football games. If we can't then so be it. Moving on from Mayfield should be our primary goal in the next few weeks, he's a black-hole of awful. -
That's the worry, isn't it? Rivera took play-calling duties off Wilks when he was the DC here and he flamed out in Arizona, but he has the brass balls to fire Snow, the only Co-ordinator in Charlotte actually succeeding? Makes me think he's an egomaniac.

Person analyzes Rhule's time as Panthers coach

Sean Ryan is a fine QB Coach. Our error was putting him behind the worst OLine in the NFL. -

He'll undoubtedly go and have more success in College. His skillset didn't translate to the pros - I wouldn't call him a fraudulent hype man though. Not unless you think Nick Saban is the same. -

Honestly I don't want to recognise the team anymore. Whoever the new HC is next year has to completely revamp the culture of this organisation. The odd good season sprinkled into multiple losing ones is not good enough. -
He's unbelievably stupid.

Man with that kind of insight you should be in an NFL Front Office rather than posting on a message board. It was seen as a coup by everyone. It didn't work out - hindsight is always 20-20.

I assume he'd fulfil the Rooney Rule requirement. There's no way he should get the job full time.
-
Why even trade him at that point? You're essentially giving away your best player for free. Why? What's the thought process behind that?

Sorry, was anything substantial shared in those tweets? I certainly don't think so. Let's hope the follow up tweets are more interesting.

A good (not great) QB would have this team at .500, regardless of the coach, so yes we're close. That said you're nowhere without a QB, so who knows where we'll be next season.

Now that Rhule has been let go: Time to Suck Proud for Stroud
OldhamA replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's a very odd thread title. -
If the next coach has a win percentage under .300 in Yr 3 he'd expect to be fired too. What have we won, 1 in 13?
-
The only pieces people would want to trade for are the players you wouldn't want to lose - and they'd expect them for pennies on the dollar. No thanks.

Steve Smith Sr admits what’s wrong with Panthers

To be fair the current stud is on the injury report every week with a one niggle or another and 75% of the fan base thinks that the team has ran him into the ground (even though he's barely played for 2 years). Can't win. -
Jason La Canfora on the Panthers Future and CMC

Absolutely disagree that we don't have a quality roster - and trading away McCaffrey for pennies on the dollar doesn't make it any stronger either. poo article.- 161 replies
