The Athletic seems like a great idea in principle, but the local journalists they employ are terrible.

Comments from other GMs about the Panthers draft options
OldhamA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
A generational talent that couldn't cut it at Auburn and had to transfer to Liberty. Yeah, seems unlikely. -
Depends what the Eagles want for Minshew - Day 3 pick and I'm all over it. My ideal offseason would be Cross at #6, trade for Minshew and trade back up for Strong. That gives you a stronger OLine that we fielded in 2021, two QBs competing for the starting job and a very promising development guy.

Is the key one for me. If Tepper is putting pressure on him to take a QB in this Draft, then Fitterer should walk away. Basically "trust me to do my job, or get someone else to do it". -

But they didn't. -
I have Cross as the best LT in this Draft. I'd be ecstatic if he was there at #6.

He's a RSr too, so he'll be 23 already. It's not like he's a 21 year old Jr that you have a little time to work with.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick
OldhamA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ok at this point we need to trade Anderson for anything we can get. What a cancer. -
Kyler Murray deal in Arizona getting very interesting.

The Players' Union is in a tough bind if guys aren't willing to play out their rookie contracts. The owners won't stand for that. -

It'd be a surprise if Murray honours his contract? Oh please, let's rush to bring in such a team player. -

He'll walk into a top College job if he leaves after this season. -

No actual scout will tell you anything. If you mean the guys that own scouting websites or contribute to the NFL scouting pages - they're not scouts. -

The Seahawks didn't bring in Wilson either. -

He was told not to play this season so he could recover from the surgery he had. -

His tape is better than every other QBs in this Draft. What does that say for the rest of them? His red flag to me is "how bad is that knee". Everything else about him I think "yes, I can win with him at QB in the NFL". -

He hasn't played in an NFL system, but he has NFL traits - best combination of arm / accuracy / mobility in this Draft. I just don't know how he's going to translate to an NFL offence. He rarely makes full-field reads - he's mostly successful out of the (S)RPO. -
You don't become a billionaire by paying for things yourself.

My approach to the QB position is that, first of all, you always carry three. It's the most important position in sports - having an extra STer on the roster rather than a third QB is mental to me. Secondly, you draft one every other year (or every year if you don't like the guys currently in your room). To me you have a starter, a backup and a development guy. Those roles are flexible depending on age / experience / potential. Obviously you're going to miss on a lot of those later round Draft picks, but every now and again you're going to find a gem.
