  1. He's done well with Herbert and Hurts. No idea if he can lead a team though.
  2. He's just led them to the #1 overall pick, clearly there's not much to love.
  3. He wasn't a bad Draft pick at the time and I'm happy that he's having a season to prove it.
  4. Exactly. What else is Darnold meant to do when all of his WRs are blanketed? He took a chance, it didn't come off. I'm ok with that.
  5. No problem with that throw - he's tried to make a play because our receivers certainly aren't. Marshall and Moore have been blanketed all game.
  6. I think he's a perfectly fine #2 TE. You just need a clear #1, which we don't currently have.
  7. And he'd be right to - we can't move the ball, take the points.
  8. I wish someone would address the fact that the defence has seriously regressed under Wilks.
  9. It's not worth having the discussion tbh. Darnold could turn water into wine on Sunday and his detractors would still say he's 'trash' and want to trade the keys to BoA Stadium for Stroud. He's been excellent since coming off IR, but very few have the awareness to recognise that.
  10. He's clearly angling for better terms and conditions with that statement. I assume he's had a conversation with us, the Colts and the Broncos already and he's asking for things they're not willing to give at the moment.
  11. Pat McAfee had a really good analogy about how the NFL works - he compared players (and by extension coaches) to a stick of gum. A team will chew you until the flavour is gone then spit you out and reach for another stick - it might not be as flavourful, but they'll always be more gum. It's a cutthroat business - everyone who's in the league knows this.
  12. Hell he inherited a good one in 2022 and made it worse because his ego couldn't stand Snow (a far better DC than he ever was).
  13. It's a fair consideration to be fair. Ignoring your lack of first round picks and being tied to Wilson - you have to face Herbert and Mahomes four times a year. That's rough.
  14. He screwed himself over by getting run over by the Bengals and the Steelers and losing to the Bucs (not going for it on 4th and short and leaving his CBs in Cover 3).
  15. It's one of 32 NFL Head Coach opportunities. If the HC believes in themselves they won't care which one they get - they'll mold the franchise into their image.
  16. Didn't he just spend the summer promising high school kids that he was done with chasing the NFL?
  17. You don't need to go back that far - the Colts under Manning had an undersized defence... but they were always playing with the league and just needed as top or two (i.e. disrupting a drive with a big sack) to beat you.
  18. Which has always been my point about Rhule (and by extension Fitterer) - he's a very good talent evaluator (or perhaps acquirer as he didn't play Marshall, played Chinn out of position, didn't play Boseman etc etc), but a poor Head Coach. Wilks has just mostly put people where they should be and asked the team to play sound, fundamental football. That, unfortunately, doesn't get you over the hump in the NFL without a sensational QB, which we obviously don't have. If I'm in charge I thank Wilks for his time, which has been great for his CV, and wish him well. You'll get lambasted by the media, but the media just want us to be quietly competent without being a threat to their darlings.
  19. I don't watch coach press conferences, but did he really throw players under the bus?!
