Cam Ward.....opinions (AKA A Thread About Shedeur Sanders)
OldhamA replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
From what I've read he was pushing last year at Washington St - he felt the pressure to play hero ball to get noticed by NFL scouts. He's playing within the scheme so far at Miami - obviously having much better talent around him helps that. -

They play the logo, not the team. Everyone gets up for Miami - believe that. -

I wouldn't like to say. He's probably the best QB in College football right now, but whether that translates over to the NFL is another thing. I'd like to see more accuracy with his throws - speaking purely as a scout, as a Miami fan I'm thrilled with his contributions so far - he's College accurate (hits the open man in stride) but I don't know if he's NFL accurate (intentionally throwing to a front or back shoulder etc). Other than that I think he's got every attribute you look for in an NFL QB - his arm is strong enough, he's mobile enough, he moves well in the pocket, he can throw from multiple arm angles, he reads the defence well (both the coverage and adjusting his blocking scheme) and he's poised. If I was an NFL scout I'd certainly recommend him to my GM, but I wouldn't stake my career on him just yet. Let's see how he does after ACC play. -

He fumbled a lot last year I think. -

We have 8 ACC games to play - so in all of those. We're everbody's Super Bowl and typically we've dropped a couple of those games every year we've had no right to. USF pushed Alabama close in Tuskaloosa, they're no slouches. -

There's not many NFL throws on his film. -
Some of y’all were begging for Minshew as a vet QB

Imagine have Moore and all those Draft picks back. -
I am not disappointed. 50-15 at their place.

He threw an INT against Florida.
-
He's quick enough - he can scramble for 10+ yards if he takes off. He's not going to beat a LB / DB to the edge though.
-
The INT he was charged with should be ruled a fumble. He hit the dude right between the numbers - I'm still not entirely sure how that ball popped out.
-
Consider me disappointed. Ward has been poor today and the D isn't ready for this fast paced USF offence.
-
Seriously is that true?
-
We'll see, but so far they have been.
-
I'd be very disappointed if it's anywhere close.

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

Had a quick look, I was relieved that I was bang on the money as always. -
Is this the real reason for Bryce's struggles?

Alabama stays lying. She's 5'10" at most (probably 5'9" judging by the video of them walking side by side [and we know he's 5'10"]). -
Would quarterbacks avoid Carolina Panthers in NFL Draft?

If you're not confident enough in your ability to think you can't come into Charlotte and turn the franchise around as the starting QB then you simply don't have the mentality of a successful NFL QB. They're sociopaths. -
The narrative that really needs to die is that we've not helped Young out. Somehow in all this it's been forgotten that we had the 9th overall pick when we selected Bryce Young. We have a bottom third of the NFL roster (and did then too), but we're literally unwatchable with Young at QB. He's actually that bad. He's a force divider.
