  1. Franchise LTs don't come available on the FA market very often. If it's a choice between a guy we think can hold down LT for a decade and Pitts at #8, you take the LT. If said LT is gone and so are the QBs you like, I'm comfortable taking Pitts. Pitts and McCaffrey will give opposing LB corps (and Safeties) sleepless nights. Add in Moore's ability to dominate on the outside and that's an enviable stable of talent at the skill positions.
  2. I'm not saying it's gimmicky - I'm saying it in conjunction with a boatload of screens and misdirection is gimmicky. It doesn't require much arm talent to run that offence - and the reads aren't difficult either. I'm not blaming Lawrence or Sweeney, I'm just saying. I also hate playing it every other year because they have better athletes than we do.
  3. Yes, teams and scouts are INTENTIONALLY hamstringing themselves. They've watched the tape - there aren't any questions about his arm strength or mobility (albeit there's questions about his mechanics).
  4. I mean: 2nd round pick FA (and former 1st round pick) 1st round pick 3rd round pick and Franchise legend 3rd round pick UDFA They didn't neglect the position at all in terms of resources.
  5. I mean the previous guy has like 5 kids from multiple different women, including a stripper. Where do we draw the line?
  6. If he settles with these people out of court and doesn't receive a suspension I'd offer the Texans our 2022 first round pick and immediately hire a round-the-clock rub-n-tug specialist for our new sexual deviant starting QB.
  7. The two big concerns I'd have with Lawrence if we were in the game for him are: a) that offence is gimmicky as poo. So much of it is based off screens, misdirection and RPO with superior athletes. b) his inconsistent ball placement when throwing downfield. That stat right there backs up a).
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if this is retribution by Texas oil / big business, lifting the veil of anonymity on Watson's actions. It doesn't mean the charges are false though.
  9. You think Jones gets past us and the Broncos? Clearly the 49ers didn't.
  10. Literally go ask anyone on a certain other website - it's well documented.
  11. I'd walk away if Tepper did that to me as a HC. He'd be hamstringing the team for years to sate his ego. Go back to coaching college teams - you wouldn't be short of offers.
  12. So just to be clear, because I'm not comfortable taking Lance at #8 I'm delusional? If he's there at #40 I'm running to the podium - that's a low risk, high reward pick. There's arguments that Mond will go in the first round too - I just wouldn't take him there.
  13. I was the biggest proponent of taking Mahomes you'll find - when every other Panthers fan was swooning over the broken down QB we had under contract. That dude screamed generational talent. Nice try though.
  14. Likewise, you don't pass on talented players if the QB that everyone thinks you desperately need to draft has too many question marks raised by your scouts for you to be comfortable with him. I'm all for taking late round fliers on Lance, Newman, Mond, Mills etc - all guys with technical flaws that you MAY be able to coach out of them if your QB Coach is good enough (and has the time). I'm not ok with taking guys at #8 (or hell, trading UP for guys) that aren't bonafide generational QB prospects.
  15. Mainly because he hasn't played in a year, played one season before that and came from a High School that predominantly ran the ball.
  16. Anyone not named LSU, Alabama, Georgia and Florida would struggle to compare - I'm watching England play, so I'm not going to bother digging into those rankings again. Alabama aren't the competition. Alabama are the run away leaders. Those cheating bastards have the game rigged.
  17. 2020 class - 6 2019 class - 4 2018 class - 17 2017 class - 13 Stacked. Their TE could play for us tomorrow. On a side note, FSU were dumb as fug not to give Jimbo Fisher whatever he wanted to remain HC.
  18. For Mond, just like with Lance, I guess I've just been too burned by watching Newton repeat the same mistakes for a decade to fall in love with them. When a QB enters the Draft with obvious technical flaws that terrifies me. Especially as it's clear that those technical flaws are incredibly difficult to coach out of a guy at the elite level.
  19. Moore, Samuel and Anderson had career years with this 'awful' QB and McCaffrey missed most of the season. We'd have been better with a better QB, obviously, but not by a lot. Of course roster building is never done, but we have very few core pieces on the roster right now. The ones you'd consider in that role are first / second year players so who knows how they develop.
  20. To quote the great Dave Chappelle: "Sharon, with all due respect, that murderer ran for over 11,000 yards". Yes, if he can help my team win football games.
  21. I guess that's fair, it could be historically bad like the 1999 Draft.
