  1. I remember when those were decent numbers for a starting NFL QB.
  2. In a passing league, CBs are incredibly valuable. So are DEs (or pass rushing DTs).
  3. You're missing the key component of this - what if Darnold becomes a Pro Bowler too?
  4. I genuinely think they ditched Bridgewater so quickly because he wasn't taking the shots Brady was calling for him. Based on his LSU offence (admittedly he had two first round picks and a second round pick at WR and the #1 overall pick at QB), Brady can call an offence.
  5. I think it's somewhere in the middle and it's mostly down to the QB. Based on the talent on the roster we overachieved by winning 5 games. The vast majority of guys on the roster last year I considered to be NFL talents are less than 4 years removed from their Draft class. We were in almost every game BECAUSE of the QB. Bridgewater was efficient and effective with the ball, moving up freely up and down the field between the 20s. Why we underachieved is also because of the QB. He couldn't turn those 3s into 6s often enough.
  6. Apologies for not understanding the graph - I assume this means we very few prime time games?
  7. Sewell is no guarantee either at OT either. Similar measurables to Slater.
  8. For some reason that's made me think of "Shuffle off to Buffalo, Barry", which is from one of the all-time great shows, Burn Notice. That's going to be my go to for every Panther than ends up with the Bills from now on.
  9. What I've said in private about previous jobs is completely different to what I've said in public - and I wasn't being paid $20m, nor could multiple people tear my story to shreds if they so chose.
  10. So I was on the fence, but now you've confirmed to me that you're just full of bullshit.
  11. Ok, having listened to that full interview, Rhule should march into the Social Media Manager's office right now:
  12. I think they'll throw them all into the mix in TC and play the best five. Maybe this year Christensen isn't the best LT, but if he's one of the two best Gs he'll play there.
  13. I think they drafted like you're meant to draft - take the guy you think is going to be an All-Pro when it's your pick, rather than the guy you 'need' but he's only going to be a solid starter.
  14. He's already a fantastic Head Coach, just ask Baylor or Temple. What, exactly, about his time in Charlotte has made you question him as a Head Coach? 'Cos I saw him lead a ragtag bunch of young kids and washed up vets to 5 wins. If his QB had taken more of the chances they drew up for him who knows how many more wins he'd have had (this coming from someone who's defended Bridgewater all year).
  15. You must have lived through a different off-season to me.
  16. Wilson v Darnold. You don't even need to write a story.
  17. Blatantly obvious the NFL was going to do this. It has to be the national game.
  18. He didn't mention Miami as a school he visits as part of his SE Regional remit. Veto.
  19. As I said, it's money - there's always going to be a cost involved for the city when building a new stadium. Unfortunately Oakland has always considered the A's a burden - but this is the same city council that let the Raiders and the Golden State Warriors walk, so I'm not entirely sure they want pro sports in their city. Las Vegas seems like an awful option. Portland is a nothing-burger of a place. Who knows where they'll go - but I do think they'll leave now, this has been rolling on for two decades.
  20. As I understand it - money. I don't know the area well (I've visited Oakland, but I'm not a city planner ) but I think the city are worried about the required transport links to the new stadium, which is like 6 miles away from the Coliseum (which has great transport links).
  21. They've already allowed two teams to leave. The A's want to finance their own waterfront ballpark, but the City aren't allowing them to build it where they want to. It's almost like they don't want pro sports in the city.
  22. As an Oakland A's fan (hence the name):
  23. He won two National Championships playing as a QB in a Spread Option offence. He's plenty athletic. The defence got better the more they got accustomed to a new system. Shocking that (!)
  24. Marty Hurney signed a failed basketball guy to play TE for him this off-season because he liked the look of him with his shirt off. Jimmy Graham had 13 catches in College. Antonio Gates had 0. What I'm saying is the NFL is not like the real world. It's all about projection and culture fit. This is nothing more than what Rhule did with Whitehead. Meyer is bringing in one of his guys to install his culture in the locker room - The Golden Calf of Bristol obvs still wants to play professional sports so it works for him too. He'll survive through TC. If he's terrible he won't make the final roster.
