  1. Rhule and Fitterer have shown they will quickly move on from a QB if he's not the guy. Thankfully they haven't done that at the expense of the rest of the roster as, as you've correctly pointed out, we're not in the position to be trading away Draft resources. We need quality depth.
  2. Again another dude who hasn't played in forever. Pure project based on measurables.
  3. Christensen isn't going against starters.
  4. As I repeatedly said - I never understood the 'generational' athlete hype that surrounded him. He doesn't have elite length for an OT. He also hadn't played for a year at that point. He's talented, but raw as hell - he's one to judge two years from now. I could see him ending up at OG when it's all said and done.
  5. I'd cut Slye a break if he didn't shank everything right. He needed to gtfo in the offseason.
  6. I mean if we're honest half the PSL owners sell their tickets to visiting fans anyway. Win and people will come - it's always been that simple. They've 'botched' the QB position once - in the sense that Bridgewater was mediocre (and apparently toxic) rather than bad. You're rushing to judgement on Darnold.
  7. I'm not surprised by that - I never understood the hype around Sewell. He doesn't have elite length and is raw as hell.
  8. Personally I really love the RAS focus in the Draft. Especially with the priority picks - 1-4th round. Taking the guy with elite traits who's produced in College makes a lot of sense to me. I'd love 5 OL as athletic as Christensen, for example - you could do wonders with that. Take athletes (who aren't JUST athletes) and coach them up - that's why you have a Coaching staff. The emphasis on teaching is a big plus for me - but I'm higher on Rhule than most. I'm ok with taking fliers on productive College players after the 5th round, but I'd still weight it towards those with RAS scores. At the end of the day there's an athletic floor to the NFL that you have to reach to be able to play here.
  9. Good post. I'd just argue Sean Ryan is the most important guy in Darnold's life right now. His footwork was his biggest problem. Not his processing. That lead to his inaccuracy and 'slow' processing - ie he didn't have his feet set so he couldn't release the ball on time.
  10. QB, LB, Rhule, Newton, Fields, the turf, Tepper, the potential new stadium, leaving Spartanburg, the in-house media team.... I mean, probably.
  11. Yeah, well, show me another young ginger QB from Orange County who has struggled and needs significant development who is healthy and basically not playing in the preseason.
  12. We've played two of the deepest teams in the league and we're in the middle of a rebuild. We can hang with anyone with our first string in there - albeit they're mostly young - but once you start comparing our seconds and thirds to theirs the lack of quality depth on this team shows. Thankfully most of those guys will be gone / asked to play sparingly come the season.
  13. Y'know the people who keep on stating that spending a 2nd round pick on Darnold was 'putting all of our eggs in one basket'? This is why I keep directing them to Trey 'three first round picks' Lance for a true definition of that idiom.
  14. Yes, I'm a Miami Hurricanes fan. I think something needs to be done to cut the SEC off at the knees. Whether this is the answer I don't know.
  15. Man, the Jets should have thought about getting him a QB Coach if they were going to properly coddle him. A competent OC would have been nice too.
  16. The skill isn't being able to hit a 50 yard FG. The skill is being able to hit any FG at 50 yards or shorter come rain or shine. Evidently not many can do that.
  17. There was a comment around earlier that he has a clause in his contract - he gets a bonus for every snap he takes at LT.
  18. His story about buying out the team store of Smith jerseys when he was traded made me chuckle. He's nuts.
  19. Trending how? I'd really love to see the working out of this madness - if there is any.
  20. I mean teams change kickers during the season. They don't have to learn any plays - just kick the ball. Go follow Pat McAfee - he's got hilarious stories about how he and Vinatieri were just goofing off every practice because they have so few responsibilities.
  21. So this is basically all about you falling in love with a QB (I assume Fields) and not being able to get over the fact that the Panthers FO / Coaching staff thought that Horn and Darnold were a better gamble? Cos there are no facts backing up your arguments, just conjecture. Like going 'all-in' by using a 2nd round pick in a trade. For reference, going all in is sending 3 first round picks to a team for a player / Draft pick. If Darnold doesn't work out this season we roll the dice next year on someone else - we've already shown we're happy to move on from failing QBs with average starting contracts.
