  1. Yeah losing water weight is on the same level as the preparation h trick.
  2. Belly fat is just stubborn. You will lose fat all over your body before you will start losing belly fat. Best advice: patience
  3. I thought about posting a video of a chalazion cyst removal but i'll just post some random craigslist negotiation i found online
  4. I'm incredibly stiff and unmotivated in the mornings. A few days ago, I didn't have to work until later, so I went to the gym as soon as it opened. This week I'm not lifting at all - doing all cardio and HIIT. That morning, I had a HIIT workout planned that would have taken 15-20 minutes, then I was going to run for 5 miles. What I actually did: HIIT for about 5 minutes, ran for 3/4ths of one mile. That day taught me not to waste my free mornings at the gym.
  5. So I finally took my stiff ass to the gym today. After a bit of a warmup, I did loosen a little. But I was like 90% done, re-racking some weights when I felt a pop in my lower back. I've only pulled a muscle once and that pretty much ruined my week. But this was different - no real pain, but it did make moving around pretty difficult. Now I'm even stiffer but doing some calisthenics every once in a while seems to help.
  6. Hahaha I really want to go kill chest today. I haven't found the motivation to take my stiff ass anywhere yet though.
  7. My quads and lower back are killing me today. First good leg day since April probably.
  8. The important thing about crossfit is to not get into the mindset that it is a competition. You start wanting to one-up someone, and you're going to sacrifice form. You will get injured. Just compete with yourself and you'll see it's not the stupidity that is portrayed. Also remember it is very light strength training then a 20-40 minute WOD. That really doesn't meet most people's expectations. OTOH, if you do it six times a week for weeks on end, you will experience overtraining syndrome. I think doing it about twice a week would be ideal, but with what it costs you want your money's worth.
  9. weird... whether i'm active or not, i'm a very profuse sweater

  11. I haven't lifted heavy in ages. I think last time I went 405 on the squat was around 2009 when I was lifting with a bunch of "bench bros". Every day was chest, shoulders, traps or tris. I couldn't keep up with them on the bench. But one day they decided to squat and I had to show off. We had one who benches over 350 struggling with 225 on the squat. It makes no sense to me. Somehow I've become partial to front squats. I don't get nearly as much weight but I feel like I get much more out of it. I guess my workouts have morphed into a combination of what Cat does with some "sustainment" lifting. I'm definitely not going to set any PRs with my regime that I'll be starting again soon.
  12. 1400? I remember in high school I thought I was top poo for making what was called the 1000 pound club
  13. When I was overseas working with foreign militaries, many many many people do everything in bare feet, even distance running. Sent from my Nexus 7 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app
  14. same here... leg workouts will do that. makes you heavier than you look
  15. Since all my symptoms have been gone for several weeks now, I'm planning on starting back up next Monday. I'll be going light for a few days and building back up as I can tolerate. When I'm inactive for a while, my upper back starts acting up again. It has driven me bananas the last week or two.
  16. I realize this is a few weeks old now, but "lots of lean protein" is useless without carbs to break it down so the body can use it. Sent from my Nexus 7 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app
