  1. I know a guy with a chemical engineering degree from Cornell. He's currently a lab tech in the Army.
  2. No, the degree comes from Nebraska. You can do the clinical phases at a number of places.
  3. If you're interested in being a PA, the IPAP is an excellent option. Basically you need at least 60 hours. Get 4+ years of education crammed into your head in 27 months, graduate with a Master's from U of Nebraska and have a guaranteed job.
  4. Not really. The military doesn't recognize anything lower than a BSN, but it's so competitive most nurses need MSN to work a BSN position. You likely won't be promoted past O-3 if you're not a Practioner.
  5. Not necessarily true about the commitment. It is true if you incur a lot of student debt first, THEN join the military. They will pay it off and require a commitment. It is called the Student Loan Repayment Program. If you join first, then start school, you can use Tuition Assistance. I can't remember the exact numbers, but it pays a max of somewhere around $1500 per semester. You can use it on top of any Pell Grants or loans you may get with FAFSA. Also note, many schools have financial aid programs specific to their schools.
  6. meh... i have good shoulders, just my left one is very weak compared to the right. it seems to only affect me on incline, where i overcompensate. but i'm not sure how to play "catch-up"
  7. Insanity is infinitely better for cardio. The only equipment you need is a good pair of shoes and maybe a mat to soak up your sweat.
  8. For coughing fits at night, try this... its weird but it works. Clean your feet. Apply vicks vapo-rub to your soles. Put on socks. That said, I missed 4 days around Christmas, but otherwise I'm still going hard. I usually spend about an hour at the gym. Today I was going at it for over two hours because I know I'll miss a few days over the next week.
  9. Today was probably the heaviest I've gone since my back injury. 245 bench (4 reps, wanted 6 but oh well) 798 leg press (10 reps) (keep in mind, I know these aren't brag-worthy numbers. I pretty much refused to lift heavy since 2009, so those numbers are the results of maybe 6 weeks of getting back into heavier lifting.) I might push myself hard on squats and deadlift later this week depending if I'm sore tomorrow. Right now I feel pretty good so it looks promising.
  10. I saw people dogging him. I didn't see the post that led to it.
  11. Probably already on the huddle somewhere, but here it is:
  12. he probably needed a new one afterwards
