I stopped at a diner right outside the Bronx a few months back. They didn't have grits, but they had sausage patties. It's there man, you've gotta go find it.

It's more of a Salisbury thing than mountain thing. I love it. Livermush > Scrapple

The difference is that in 2013, Shula's efficient, ball control offense worked very well. In 2014, we tried using a little more Coryell downfield attacks, but with incredibly slow receivers. The deep passes on third and short really hampered the ball control offense. Contrast that with 2011, when the offense carried the team. Remember our defense that season featured James Anderson and a bunch of guys who couldn't make Arena football rosters. We know what Cam is capable of doing when he isn't hampered by the read option base offense, or the "get the ball to the 45 and punt for field position" philosophy. It has nothing to do with diminishing Wilson's achievements. The guy is the absolute perfect quarterback for his team. He knows his receivers. He lobs the ball up so only they can get to it. Kearse and Baldwin have what our receivers don't have: speed. We know Wilson can kill teams with that lob. But can throw a laser over the middle? When the Seahawks are in a "forget a field goal, score a TD or lose" situation, he tends to throw interceptions (St. Louis 2012, Atlanta 2012 playoffs, Indianapolis 2013, San Fran 2013, Arizona 2013, Dallas 2014, New England Super Bowl). What that tells me is that teams who go to a Prevent look and keep everything in front of their DBs have a great chance at winning because, frankly, I don't think Wilson can handle those situations.

sounds like my wife... except she makes her own maple syrup too. when i make my own breakfast and I'm feeling healthy, i'll eat 2 boiled eggs, a few strips of thick cut turkey bacon (not that paper thin oscar meyer garbage), blueberry pancakes w/ maple syrup, a banana, and a bowl of oatmeal. when i feel like being a fat ass, i'll do 3 scrambled eggs, half a roll of sausage or a pile of regular bacon, grits, hash browns, and sometimes i'll throw in a bowl of cereal eta: usually within an hour or two, i'll have a cup of mocha

I love this show. The phone call, I suppose, was letting it out that the Kettleman family are targets without letting on that he knew anything

What I was looking at: Davis averaged 5.5 ypc on third down, and 3.1 ypc with less than 3 to go on any down. Also, he carried 20 times only twice (compared to 2003, when he carried 30+ times in four games). Filling in for a suspended player doesn't make another player a starter, no matter how bad he played against Chicago. Mare forced us to punt from where we now kick field goals. Medlock only missed from 40+. Mare would miss chip shots You probably have a point about Ron Edwards being worse than I remember, but he is far from being anywhere near the worst starter at DT.

I have to disagree on your running backs. Lamar Smith was all we had for the half season he played. Everybody knew we were running. We had no line. He still averaged 3.5. In 2005, Stephen Davis was nothing more than a short yardage / goal line back. Look at his TDs and 1st down stats. DJ Hackett was not a starter. He alternated the third WR spot with Jarrett during the 2008 run fest season. Olindo Mare was a million times worse than Medlock. Ron Edwards did his job. He was a run stopper and nobody ran against us when he was in the lineup.

Today I saw an older gentleman I've never seen before doing squats on the Smith machine. He was obviously just starting out; he had no clue what he was doing. He caught my attention when I saw him bent like a question mark and the bar right in the middle of his neck. I didn't want to be that douche, so I didn't interfere with him (he had only a 10 lb. plate on each side, so I wasn't worried about him hurting himself.) However, he stopped and approached me to ask for advice. I was able to help him get his feet, legs, and hips set right and showed him how the weight is supposed to be distributed across his back rather than his neck. But I couldn't get him to stop bending in the middle of his back every time he went down. Is there maybe some sort of technique to use to maybe break that habit? I mean, other than babysitting and reminding him on every rep.

How much control does Lovie Smith have in Tampa? I could easily see him trading the #1 away to pick up a couple of defensive guys early then bringing in a Vet QB.

I think a lot of people just don't know how. I see a lot of people working their quads, but never their hamstrings. That's a foolproof way to develop knee problems (I learned the hard way). Don't even get me started on all the messed up ways I've seen people squat.

I keep telling people this. I have one friend I affectionately call "popsicle" because he is literally huge on top with tiny legs like a popsicle.

Bro Science is foolproof, bro. Actually, I've seen a similar study that only used results from new athletes who haven't reached homeostasis with their new lifestyle yet. That study didn't mention carb intake to increase insulin. The insulin part is what makes the anabolic window possible, if it exists.

The RDA is 56 g per day for grown men, which is the minimum recommendations of the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range. Also the old 0.8g per kilo of body weight is based on nitrogen balance studies in sedentary people. Many newer studies suggest 1-1.4 g per kg for endurance athletes and upwards of 1.7g per kg for body builders. Keep in mind, that is total protein, not just supplements. I mentioned I started lifting during lunch. That was so I could do more cardio activities in evenings and nights. Considering how often I end up skipping the cardio, I'm still trying to find that balance with cardio.

most people will tell you to have some carbs and protein both before and after workouts. but usually i'll eat bread or something with carbs about half an hour before working out, then go heavy on protein immediately after working out. a 1:2 ratio of carbs to protein is usually considered ideal (depending on your own goals, of course). after a good workout, your muscles have about a 30 minute window where they are primed to make the best use of protein. that's why I immediately drink it. (I make it the night before, refrigerate, and shake the hell out of it between sets towards the end of my workout) I don't necessarily follow that advice to a T. Since I've started lifting during lunch breaks at work, I very often do not eat anything before working out. My protein shake is similar to davos... I use blueberries, strawberrys, kale, almond milk, and protein powder. Usually I do between 20-45 g of protein depending on the workout.

Normally I superset Squats with something like triceps extensions where I only do one arm at a time in order to get longer rest period between sets. At the same time, I hate idle time at the gym. By the time I had gotten to the end of my workout, squats were all I had left, and I figured an alternate wouldn't hurt too much. eta: my gym has 2 smith machines, but I refuse to use that contraption. there used to be room where I could just do it in open space, but that space now taken by an assortment of incline and decline benches for whatever reason. besides, i can't power clean and jerk 225 (my usual starting weight) then lower it to do back squats. well, i might, but i'll never know because i'm not going to try it. eta again: overhead squats may be a nice change of pace. hmmmm....
