  1. You don't necessarily need shakes or supplements - but consuming calories, yes. I constantly stay hungry, but self-discipline is another subject. I would think friends would make things easier, but maybe that's just me.
  2. The hardest part is getting started. Once you get it going, its like your body starts craving it. ....until you take a break. Then your body never wants to lift again.
  3. Personally I believe squatting is more mental than physical. I know it sounds weird, but I know if I'm feeling pretty confident and having a good workout, that bar gets pretty light. How much do you really push yourself on squats? I bet you will be pleasantly surprised what you can actually do once you start pushing it. (only push it if you're going parallel with a spotter - don't try that ish going ass to ground) I know I was content with 225 way back when until someone challenged me to push it. I tried 315 and found it incredibly easy and got 10 reps. I don't remember what I eventually maxed on the squat, but I really bet you can do double what you think you can do. Quads are crazy powerful.

  8. I should have realized the special, inbred type of Louisiana stupid when he didn't get the Animal House reference and tried to correct the quote. Then he does the Alicejandra thing and talks about how much he makes, all while living in an area with a per capita income less than $11k.

  11. I know, I know... I'm talking about before the season started. Willis was DROY, Beason had a great year. Beason probably was better in 2008, but Willis is currently the best in the league. Could you imagine us trying to make that argument now?
  12. If RSherman25 has taught us anything with his Wagner > Kuechly BS, its that we must have looked pretty dumb back in 2008 when we said Beason was better than Willis.

  15. oh noes! You have the leading preseason receiver?!?! Whatever shall we do? We have the leading preseason pass defender, interception leader and preseason DPOY in Josh Norman, who probably won't even be starting because preseason means dick.
  16. I'm probably not the one to answer a question about cutting weight, but I do make a very conscious effort to avoid the "light" version of almost everything. Usually it tends to be less healthy than the original version. I know there are exceptions, but I recommend using the regular version or eliminating it completely - especially salad dressings. Go with a vinaigrette instead.
  17. I've tried in the past. Lack of will power is my biggest obstacle. I've never been a great distance runner. Even in high school, running a 4.6 40 and a 51 second 400, I don't think I ever ran a sub-7 minute mile. Eventually I could while I was on active duty in the military, but it took years to get there.
  18. I hate running. If it weren't required for my second job, I would never do it. My cardio would come strictly from biking or swimming. That being said - is it realistic to try to take about 2 minutes off my 2 mile time in 3 weeks? ~bear in mind the amount of motivation I require just to hit the pavement is something out of this universe.
  19. Just guessing here, but once you do stop smoking, you will need to crank up the intensity. I quit smoking in April 2010. I weighed about 185 at the time. By December I was 260. I should point out that I stopped most of my routines in June 2010 due to all the back problems I was having.. but 75 pounds in 8 months! I'm down to about 210 now. But still nowhere near the fitness level I was several years ago.
  20. are you sure? I'm pretty sure buying an adidas watch drops 8 pounds the same way an STI sticker on a civic adds 15 hp
  21. Yep I have an app that tracks runs, bike rides, etc but I never remember to use it. You can manually put in other workouts and it tracks calories. I've only manually entered a workout once and never bothered with the diet portion. Its for someone a little more serious than me.
